Guest Cabins at the Grapevine Canyon Ranch near Sunsites, Arizona
Bit of a departure from the usual daily happenings tonight. We did have a great day Jeeping through the Dragoon Mountains & I will blog about that & put the photos up Thursday. Just got back too late this afternoon & besides I want to post the rest of the Grapevine Canyon Ranch pics. We also have some company tonight which I will blog about tomorrow as well. And, on top of all that, I am just too pooped to pop tonight…………….
Eve & Kelly head for the Tac Room
Many saddles & bridles for guests to mount up for all the trail rides.
Eve shows us the Games Room & Library
The Games Room was nearly lost in the devastating fire that burnt the Cookhouse to the ground. In the following photos you can see the burned & scorched timbers at the Game Room’s main entrance.
All the horses looked so healthy
And this is how the Ranch guests get onto the horses. Just walk up onto the platform while your horse is walked up beside you. Swing a leg over & you are ready to ride, Cowboy:))
And, The Grapevine Ranch comes complete with pool & hot tub. End of season now & time to clean the leaves out of the water so from her DEER PARK LODGE experience back home, Kelly stops to scoop some leaves out of the filter.
AROUND THE GROUNDS
BONNIE IS ON GIFT SHOP DUTY TODAY
Well, it’s time to leave the Grapevine Canyon Ranch & head ourselves on home. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 hours there & our talk with Eve Searle. All the best, Eve:))
Kelly helps out a local Rancher find his way home…. “I think you live over there Sir.” :))
A few final photos on the way back & notice the snow atop the Chiricahua Mountains. The old Ghost Town of Pearce, Arizona is just to the left of that knobbed hill on the right.
Cottonfields
Thursday will be our super bumpity Jeep tour from the Cochise Stronghold to the grave sites of 4 Confederate Soldiers killed by Apache Indians back in the 1800’s on the other side of the Dragoon Mountains. See you there……………….:))
GROANER’S CORNER:(( A man driving down the road behind an 18 wheeler notices that at every stop light the trucker would get out of the cab, run back and bang on the trailer door. After seeing this at several intersections in a row the motorist followed him until he pulled into a parking lot. When they both had come to a stop the truck driver once again jumped out and started banging on the trailer door. The motorist went up to him and said, "I don't mean to be nosey but why do you keep banging on that door?"
To which the trucker replied, "Sorry, can't talk now, I have 20 tons of canaries and a 10 ton limit, so I have to keep half of them flying at all times."
