WE WERE HOME 40 MINUTES LATER....MINUS ONE TOOTH

AUTUMN'S EARLY COLORS HAVE SLIPPED IN AND TOUCHED THIS SUN-DAPPLED FARM LANE
T.G.I.F doesn't mean much anymore when in these Senior years every day seems like Sunday to me.  A.N.I.S. (Awww Nuts Its Sunday)  Well, regardless of what day it is, in the end, it was another beautiful early September morn.

A FEW TOUCHES OF COLOR FROM MOTHER NATURE'S PAINT BRUSH
With Subie's front windows down, Pheebs and I headed East on Bayfield River Road to Parr Line again.  From there we motored south through Varna to Pavillion Line and turned right for a slow gravely road cruise west to the Linwood Wildlife area.  Another one of our favorite areas for a short walk.  Pheebs is more into the short walks we do nowadays compared to the longer walks we did years ago.  And, that's quite okay with me

These September mornings are nothing short of magical in the countryside with Autumn's touch beginning to dapple a few colors here and there across the hills and dales, fields and forests.  The air is quieter now without summer's flying insects and with the Sun's rays angling in at a slightly lower angle, shadows are lengthening as the rural landscape slowly begins to slip on its Autumn cloak.

Another one of the many bad effects of liver disease is the deterioration of one's teeth and Kelly certainly has had her share of dental appointments these past years.  We piled into the Subaru this afternoon and headed to the Exeter Dental Care clinic in Exeter where Kelly had a 2:15 appointment.  While she was having a tooth extracted, I slipped over to the Home Hardware store and picked up some #1 coffee filters.  From there I checked to see if the new Exeter Burger King was open.....and it wasn't.  On the way back to the Dental clinic I briefly stopped at Elliot Park which can accommodate half a dozen small to medium-sized RVs.  With a dump station, it's a handy stopover in Exeter's north end right off Highway 4 on the west side.  During most of our RV years, after arriving home in the Spring, I would drive our RV here after a few days to empty the tanks at the dump station..........Kelly was ready to go about 2:45 and we were home 40 minutes later.....minus one tooth.

Al's Music Box:)) Me And Mrs Jones was a #1 single originally performed by Billy Paul, recorded and released in 1972. The single was written by Cary 'Hippy Gilbert, Kenny Gamble, and Leon Huff, and arranged by Bobby Martin.  The single became Paul's only #1 single. In 2018, Paul's single was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.  "The arrangement has been described as having "A lush string arrangement and punchy horn parts complemented Mr. Paul’s velvety, husky baritone, which built from a near-whisper at the beginning of the song to a wrenching, drawn-out shout of “Me and Mrs. Jones” at climactic points.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Two men are hunting deer when a large bear rears up and begins to charge them.  One man jumps into his running shoes and begins to run with the other man.  The second man asks why he put them on because it won't help him outrun the bear.  He said, "I don't need to outrun the bear I just need to outrun you."

A young woman said to her doctor, 'You have to help me, I hurt all over.' 'What do you mean?' said the doctor. The woman touched her right knee with her index finger and yelled,'Ow, that hurts.' Then she touched her left cheek and again yelled, 'Ouch! That hurts, too.' Then she touched her right earlobe. 'Ow, even THAT hurts.' The doctor looks her straight in the face and says, 'You have a sprained finger.'

A couple walking in the park noticed a young man and woman sitting on a bench, passionately kissing.  "Why don't you do that?" said the wife.  "Honey," replied her husband, "I don't even know that woman!"

A Mormon acquaintance once pushed Mark Twain into an argument on the issue of polygamy. After long and tedious expositions justifying the practice, the Mormon demanded that Twain cite any passage of scripture expressly forbidding polygamy.  "Nothing easier," Twain replied. "No man can serve two masters."

THAT'S ALRIGHT, I WAS WALKING A LITTLE SLOW MYSELF

PHEEBS CHECKS OUT A BEANFIELD THIS MORNING
Pheebs and I wrapped ourselves up in another beautiful early September morning and headed East down Bayfield River Road to Parr line.  We then made our way southeast to the Bannockburn Line and slowly followed it to its southern end at Centennial Road taking a few pics along the way.

LATTICE WORK SHADOWS ON SUBI EARLIER TODAY
A FEW PICS OF SHADOW AND LIGHT ALONGSIDE THE ROAD

 SPIDER WEBS??  NOPE, TENT CATERPILLARS
We crossed Centennial Road and went past Kerr's Campground on the right.  This narrow dirt road was probably an old farm lane years ago and about a quarter mile in there is a place to park.  Pheebs and I have been quietly walking here for years.  No trails, just the old road itself.  Because of our cool nights, I figured flying insects wouldn't be a problem, and they weren't.
PARKED THE CAR AND HEADED DOWN THE ROAD
FOLLOW ME DAD...I KNOW THE WAY
I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE PHEEBS GO AROUND THE WATER PUDDLE INSTEAD OF THROUGH IT

AUTUMN'S GOLD AND PURPLE COLORS
Pheebs did good this morning and again she was all over the place checking things out.  She was a little slow walking back to the car but that's alright, I was walking a little slow myself.  These are very precious days now with Pheebs.

 LOOKING BACK TOWARDS THE CAR
AGAIN I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE PHEEBS GO AROUND THE WATER PUDDLE
I was able to accomplish a few outside things again before the humidity settled in and began sticking my shirt to me.  With the leaf blower, I blew out the carport, front deck, and porch.  Moved a suet feeder and topped up two bird feeders.  Cleaned a couple sunroom windows and with an electric hedge trimmer I cut down a bunch of vines on our metal shed.  And, I've removed some of the stone dust in front of the sunroom which I had put down in the Spring.  I'm going to work that soil up and plant grass there again.  And, I'm still contemplating what to do about the front yard frog pond.  Regardless of what I decide, I'll still have to begin my annual frog round-up soon.  I know for sure I have over a dozen little froggy guys out there calling our front yard......home:))

Kelly's blood results are in and as expected, some are okay and some are not.  Here are the three bad ones.  The Bilirubin Test numbers should be no higher than 21 and Kelly's is 93. The Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) number should be between 35 to 104.  Kelly's number is 827.  ALP is linked to injury of the bile ducts.  The Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) should be 33 and Kelly's number is 146.  All three of these tests are in Canadian numbers.

 ONE OF OUR FAVORITE ROADS

Al's Music Box:)) Devoted To You is a song written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant.  The best-known recording was by The Everly Brothers, released by Cadence Records. This version was issued as the flip side of "Bird Dog," but reached the charts on its own, at No. 10 on the United States pop charts, No. 25 in Australia, and No. 1 in Canada. In addition, the song reached No. 7 on the United States country music chart and No. 2 on the Rhythm and Blues chart.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A very successful businessman had a meeting with his new son-in-law. I welcome you into the family,” said the man. “To show you how much we care for you, I am making you a 50-50 partner in my business. All you have to do is go to the factory every day and learn the operation.”  The son-in-law interrupted. “I hate factories. I can’t stand the noise.” “I see.” replied the father-in-law, “Well, then you’ll work in the office and take charge of some of the operations.” “I hate office work,” said the son-in-law. “I can’t stand being stuck behind a desk.” “Wait a minute,” said the father-in-law. “I just made you half-owner of a money-making industry, but you don’t like factories, and won’t work in an office. What am I going to do with you?” “Easy,” said the son-in-law. “Buy me out.”
