IS THERE A UFO IN ONE OF MY PHOTOS??

SATURDAY NIGHT'S CLOUDS PARTED JUST ENOUGH FOR ME TO GET OFF ONE MOONSHOT
You can imagine my disappointment Saturday night when Pheebs and I headed out only to find a cloudy sky partially obscuring the big old Harvest Moon.  Not to be deterred, we cruised out to our country road walking spot where we pulled over and got out to try a few Moons shots through the clouds.  Between a few breaks in the thin overcast, I was able to get one clear shot at the Moon.  I also took a few photos of the Moon, Saturn, and the Subaru.  I did take a couple photos of Pheebs on the country road too.  I didn't notice anything unusual when I took the Pheebs pictures until I edited the photos this morning.  In one of the photos, there is an anomaly.  Behind Pheebs in the night sky is a narrow intermittent string of light.  The string of light is either coming from out of the sky to the ground or from the ground up into the sky.  I can't figure out what it is so technically speaking in the true sense of the words, this is a UFO for me until it can be figured out.  I can't identify it, it's in the sky so obviously, it's flying, and for sure it is some kind of an object.  If you look closely you can see it isn't a solid string of light which suggests it was a blinking light.  Aircraft typically show up like this at night in photos.  Now, here's the thing.....checking my camera data, it shows that this particular photo had a shutter speed of one second.  Depending on the distance from the camera lens that object traveled a long distance in one second.  No, there were no fire flys in the night air and it definitely does not look like any kind of camera lens flare or reflection.  So, unless someone comes up with an explanation it will remain for me an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) or Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP)  Below, is that photo.  I welcome any explanations or theories.  That black structure on the left is my camera tripod.

THE PLANET SATURN CAN BE SEEN TO THE FAR LEFT OF THE CLOUD-SHROUDED MOON
Oh, and here is a good example of my short-term memory.  Following these photos Saturday night, I loaded up Pheebs, put my two cameras on the floor of the back seat, and backed up making a U-turn whereupon we headed off in the direction from whence we had come.  Did anyone notice my mistake?  I was probably three or four hundred yards down the road before I realized I had not loaded my tripod into the car.  Another U-turn and back we went for it.   And yes, there it was standing stoically on the road right where I had left it.  The most amazing thing about this memory incident though is that I even remembered my tripod in the first place.  Normally, I might not have even missed it for several days, if not longer:((

AND WHO SAID THE MOON WAS PERFECTLY ROUND EH
GROANER'S CORNER:((  One day, three unemployed factory workers heard that a large food company was enlarging and needed more staff. So they went downtown to see if they could get themselves a job.  After filling out their applications, each one was interviewed and each one managed to get hired. As they were waiting to be assigned their new duties, a foreman came by and spoke to the hiring boss.  The foreman told the boss that he didn't think it was such a good idea as one of the workers had snapped for no apparent reason at his last job.  Also, a second was said to have cracked up after severe mental stress.  The third, he believed was their father who he felt was a bit odd but he couldn't put his finger on it.  The hiring boss reassured the foreman and said that they would start on something easy and after a week, the company would re-assess them to see if they would be kept on.  The foreman reluctantly agreed and asked the boss where he thought they should start.  The boss replied, "Why not take them and put them in our Cereal Division...Snap, Crackle, and Pop should work out fine down there."

PHEEBS AND I CONTINUE OUR MOONLIGHT CRUISES:))

Another beautiful September morning for Pheebs and I on our always pleasant country road walk.  Dropping her off at home later I headed into Bayfield on the early side for my 10:15 appointment at the Anjema Eye Institute.  I never got into the chair until 12:25.  It was a very busy place and the majority of my time was spent waiting in the car.  Oh well, it gave me a chance to do some reading in the Subaru's thick manual.  The eye doctor said my eyes were in excellent shape and I did not have to come back again but he did recommend I see my ophthalmologist for a new eyeglass prescription.

THERE IS SOMETHING ODD ABOUT THE CAR ON THE RIGHT AND THE PHOTO BELOW WILL SHOW YOU WHAT IT IS
JUDGING FROM THIS SENIORS PARKING JOB I'D SAY IT WAS A GOOD THING HE ARRIVED AT THE ANJEMA EYE CLINIC WHEN HE DID
With a build-up of humidity in the air, I stayed inside for the rest of the day.  Finished a book by author Dr. Kenneth Ring called Life At Death. Now, it's not that I have a morbid outlook reading these last few books dealing with death but I find the subject matter very interesting and rather uplifting.  That may sound a little weird to folks but I think if anyone were to seriously read about this subject they might have a different opinion about the end of life.  This book by Dr. Ring takes a 'nuts and bolts' scientific approach to the subject of near-death experiences. (NDE)  For me, the book was tough going in a number of places because I didn't understand the graphs and charts, along with some methods, and determinations.  Medical terms were hard to get through but the author warns of that and suggests people who are not medically savvy to just jump ahead.  And that is what I had to do on numerous occasions.  Despite that, I am glad I stuck with the book to its conclusion.  Interest going out, knowledge coming in.  Towards the end of the book Dr. Ring writes the following::: "I do believe...but not just on the basis of my own or others' data regarding near-death experiences--that we continue to have a conscious existence after our physical death and that the core experience does represent its beginning; a glimpse of things to come.  I am, in fact, convinced--both from my own personal experiences and from my studies as a psychologist--that it is possible to become conscious of "other realities" and that the coming close to death represents one avenue to a higher "frequency domain." or reality, which will be fully accessible to us following what we call death.  Let me be clear, however, that it would be exceedingly naive for anyone to believe this on the basis of my say-so (or anyone else's), nor would it be justified to claim that the findings I have presented in this book in any way prove this assertion.  The "proof" of this matter is, in any case, not something one will find in books".  That last line of his is very thought-provoking.

And yes, Pheebs and I did make it out for another moonlight Subie cruise Friday night.  And for sure we will be out again tonight with the full Harvest Moon being at its absolute fullest at 9:59 p.m.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees was absent but had not phoned in. Needing to have an urgent work problem resolved, he dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted by a child's whispered, "Hello."  "Is your Daddy home?" he asked.  "Yes," whispered the small voice.  "May I talk with him?"  The child whispered, "No."  Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?"  "Yes."  "May I talk with her?"  Again the small voice whispered, "No."  Hoping there was someone with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked, "Is anyone else there?"  "Yes," whispered the child, "a policeman."  Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?"  "No, he's busy," whispered the child.  "Busy doing what?"  "Talking to Mommy and Daddy and the Fireman," came the whispered answer.  Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, "What is that noise?"  "A helicopter," answered the whispering voice.  "What is going on there?" demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.  Again, whispering, the child answered, "The search team just landed a helicopter."  Alarmed, confused, and a little frustrated, the boss asked, "What are they searching for?"  Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle..."Me!"

A NICE DRIVE TO SOUTHAMPTON ONTARIO AND BACK TODAY

OH DEAR, THAT IS A VERY RARE SERIOUS LOOK ON KELLY'S FACE
All three of us piled into the Subaru this morning and headed out our driveway under sunny skies heading for Southhampton on the shores of Lake Huron 72 miles north of us.  A lovely morning for a drive in southwestern Ontario.  Gassed up in Goderich, and after a quick stop at the Maitland Valley Dynacare lab, we headed north out of town.  A smooth drive all the way to Southhampton passing through little towns like Dungannon, Lucknow, Holyrood, Kinloss, Kingarf, Glammis, Paisley, and Burgoyne.

NO,  WE DIDN'T TRY  TO CROSS THAT OLD BRIDGE OVER THE MAITLAND RIVER SOUTHEAST OF SOUTHHAMPTON

KELLY WATCHING PHEEBS GETTING A DRINK OF WATER
Our first stop in Southhampton was Tim Hortons for coffee and Subway for some eats.  Of course, everything is take-out these days so we found us a nice little Park to sit in the shade and eat our lunch.

TRAFFIC WAS VERY HEAVY IN DOWNTOWN SOUTHHAMPTON THIS MORNING

 HERE COMES OUR SUB SANDWICH
FOUND A SHADY PLACE TO EAT OUR LUNCH
With coffee and food behind us, we headed off in the direction of the lake less than half a mile west of us.  Had a look at Southampton's harbor where the Maitland River empties into Lake Huron.  We both took a liking to Southhampton and especially along its shoreline with so many free access points to the beach.  Nice homes as well.

CHANTRY ISLAND HAS A HISTORY OF SHIPWRECKS
We followed the very scenic lakeshore road all the way south to Port Elgin where we stopped for a washroom break before climbing back aboard highway 21 and heading for home.

With Friday traffic thickening up I got off the highway somewhere between Port Elgin and Kincardine, headed inland, and enjoyed quiet roads all the way home basically backtracking along the same route we took on the way to Southhampton a few hours before.
NORTH OF LUCKNOW ONTARIO THIS AFTERNOON WE RAN INTO SOME HEAVY AMISH/MENNONITE TRAFFIC

We both agreed that this Subaru Forrester is by far the nicest vehicle we have ever had.  So quiet, so smooth, and so enjoyable to drive.  Pheebs and I slipped out for another 20-minute Moonlight cruise Thursday night and we'll probably head out tonight again to have another look at the Moon and stars right up through the big hole in the roof:))
