I HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO DO THINGS LIKE THAT

Snowing lightly under a heavy grey cloud cover as Pheebs and I rolled out the driveway heading for Bayfield.  Today is the second big arch lift for the new bridge on highway 21 spanning the Bayfield River.  Not to worry, I'm not going to inundate y'all with another whole bunch of bridge construction photos because it was basically the same procedure as the first arch.  Not much going on at the site yet so we rolled north up highway 21 and turned right onto a country road about three side-roads up.  At this point, it began snowing very heavily so we took our time and snapped a number of photos along the way.  With all its downsides, winter can sure be pretty when it wants to be.

IT WAS ABOUT HERE WHERE IT BEGAN SNOWING HEAVIER
 CROSSING PORTERS HILL LINE

Of course, I went and took way too many photos again so I'll try and catch them up over the next few days.  I should really try leaving my camera at home more often.  Ya right, as if I could ever do that eh.

THE COUNTRY ROAD WE ARE TRAVELING ON IS STRAIGHT AHEAD....SOMEWHERE
SPOTTED THESE HORSES IN A SNOWY BARNYARD
SAW THIS YOUNGER HORSE STANDING BY A BUNCH OF STRAW BALES
HEY WAIT A MINUTE....ONE OF THOSE STRAW BALES JUST MOVED
HOLY SHIFTY SHAPES OF WOOLY WIZIGANS BATMAN......'SHEEP'
HAVING A BIG ROLL IN THE SNOW
WAIT A MINUTE...I THINK THIS HAPPY HORSE IS MAKING SNOW ANGELS
GETTING BACK UP ON ITS FEET
 A SNOWY COUNTRYSIDE
 A LONELY SUNFLOWER
Heading for home we circled back down around the bridge construction site and they had the arch standing upright in the parking lot.  I figured it wouldn't be long before they swung it over the bridge but I wasn't interested in sitting around waiting for a picture of that so Pheebs and I headed home.  You can see and read about today's lift HERE.  I did slip back to the site around 1 p.m. and the arch had already been moved into place and secured.

BY TEN THIS MORNING THEY HAD THE ARCH LIFTED UP IN THE PARKING LOT ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE BAILEY BRIDGE
BY 1 P.M. THEY HAD THE ARCH SWUNG OVER THE BRIDGE AND INSTALLED IN PLACE....YOU CAN NOW SEE WHERE THE NEW BRIDGE WILL BE
THOSE WHITE STEEL BEAMS AND GIRDERS IN THE LEFT FOREGROUND WILL SOON BE LIFTED AND BOLTED INTO PLACE BETWEEN THE ARCHES
Home again I of course was right away on the end of my snow shovel.  I figure if this snow keeps up I am probably going to need an operation by the end of winter to surgically separate the snow shovel from my hands.

 BACK IN OUR PARK
'OH-OH' THE BIG TREE GOBBLING MONSTER IS ON THE LOOSE AGAIN AND IS BACK AMONG THE HOUSES
Surprisingly, the Sun dropped in by late morning and thankfully stayed for the rest of the day.  Invigorated by that I was soon outside and up-top of my tall ladder with a long rubber brush in hand pulling snow down off Scooter's roof.  It is about a foot and a half deep up there.  I will try to get a bit more off Friday, careful of course not to end up with a TV antenna and a couple of vent covers on the ground.  I have been known to do things like that:((

WITH THE WARMTH OF THE SUN UPON ME I DIDN'T EVEN NEED TO HAVE MY BIG WINTER COAT ON
THE AMOUNT OF SNOW UP HERE ON THE RIG IS A BIT SCARY
ONCE I WAS ABLE TO CLEAR A SMALL AREA OF GLASS THE SUN'S RAYS WERE ABLE TO START THE MELTING PROCESS
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Smith goes to see his supervisor in the front office. "Boss," he says, "we're doing some heavy house-cleaning at home tomorrow, and my wife needs me to help with the attic and the garage, moving and hauling stuff."  "We're short-handed, Smith" the boss replies. "I can't give you the day off."  "Thanks, boss," says Smith "I knew I could count on you!"

It saw the salad dressing!

A small boy was lost, so he went up to a policeman and said, "I've lost my dad!"
The policeman said, "What's he like?"
The little boy replied, "Chips and beer."

IT WAS JUST ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE LITTLE JELLEYBEAN BOOSTS

A FROZEN CREEK CAPTURES THE BLUE SKY COLOR OF THE DAY
Sunshine:)))))  If I didn't say another thing, that one word would aptly describe the first half of our day.  With sunshine lending its uplifting rays to our picturesque countryside it made for a much nicer Jeep ride for Pheebs and I and anyone else out and about today.  Most folks here in the northern latitudes are just so sick of one freezing cold grey day after another.  But, we must persevere and be patient.  Warmer sunny days will hopefully soon be coming our way and I do see a slight rising of temperatures next week in the 14-day forecast.

HEADING SOUTH OVER THE BAILEY BRIDGE THIS MORNING I WAS GLAD TO SEE THE NEW BRIDGE'S FIRST ARCH SOLIDLY IN PLACE
COUNTRY ROADS WERE IN GOOD SHAPE
MY FOCUS THIS MORNING WAS ON THE COLOR BLUE:))

Moved a little snow around this afternoon and re-set all the outside light timers after a power hiccup a couple days ago.  And of course, the bird feeders are always needing re-stocking.

ALL THIS SNOW HAS BEEN KEEPING ME BUSY THIS WINTER

Started up 'Scooter' our little Class C Motorhome.  When it had warmed up enough, Pheebs and I went and sat inside for a few minutes.  Wasn't long and we had ourselves a whole host of RV jellybean dreams bouncing around in our heads.  It was another one of those little psychological boosts one needs at this time of year if one is stuck at home and not able to travel anywhere.  With sunshine beaming in Scooter's side window adding colorful rainbows to our RV dreams we did indeed have ourselves a moment:))

'OH DAD CAN WE PLEASE GO RVING SOON'

GROANER'S CORNER:((  Children were called upon a classroom to make sentences with words chosen by the teacher. The teacher smiled when Jack, a slow learner, raised his hand to participate during the challenge of making a sentence with the words "Defeat," "Defense," "Deduct," and "Detail."  Jack stood thinking for a while, all eyes focused on him while his classmates awaited his reply. Smiling, he then proudly shouted out, "Defeat of deduct went over defense before detail."

A man was brought to a hospital with heavily fractured bones. The doctor in the intensive care unit asks him, "Are you married?"  "No, I've been run over by a truck."
