A MUFFIN FOR BRUNCH, A PANINI FOR LUNCH, AN OMELET FOR SUPPER AND RHUBARB PIE FOR AN UPPER…..WELL HEY WHAT ELSE COULD I RHYME WITH SUPPER

THE HULLETT MARSH IN ALL HER FINE EARLY MORNING GREENERY

It wasn’t even 7:30 yet when Pheebs and I rolled out this morning.  Early morning air was cool so we had the Jeep’s heater on for awhile.  Our wanderings headed us east through Clinton over to the Hullett Marsh where we had ourselves a wee walk.  The countryside once again seemed so peaceful and being a Sunday morning there was barely a vehicle on the road and all farm machinery I saw was parked.  We just rolled along slow taking in all the scenery.  Farmer’s fields with their neat planting rows this time of year have a calmness about them with many showing early signs of already greening sprouts.  Less than a month from now they will be cutting hay already.

DSC_0007Kelly had given me a Subway coupon for a Panini so with that in mind we slowly made our way north from the Dublin area to Wingham Ontario where we sometimes pop in for a Tuna Sub at Subway.  With our chicken Panini in hand we headed west out of Wingham a couple miles to a quiet spot, pulled over and ate our still warm Panini.  It was Okay but I think I’ll stick with our Tuna Subs next time.  I had asked for honey mustard sauce and with my soft spoken voice I think the lady only heard mustard and proceeded to dump a whole boat load of mustard on the Panini.  Not one to complain I didn’t say anything and we made do with our strongly mustard flavored lunch.

From Wingham we set a slow course for home taking our time and snapping a few photos along the way.  Temperatures came up as the day became sunnier so it was off with the jacket and down with the windows.  A couple leg stretches along the way and we were home shortly before noon.  Think that might have been our longest morning outing since returning home early last March.

Our afternoon was quiet as both Pheebs and I lazed around not doing too much of anything.  Windows and doors open with fans going but no need to kick on the A/C.  My kind of weather day.  Whooped us up another 3 egg omelet which was supposed to be with cheese, ham, and onions but I forgot the cheese.  Chased that down with a peanut bu…….hey wait minute no we didn’t.  It was a yummy piece of rhubarb pie we had.  No I didn’t bake any pies today.  Caron from Travels With CC And Dixie had thoughtfully brought me over a piece of rhubarb pie around suppertime:))

GROANER’S CORNER:((  A fire started on some grasslands near a farm. The county fire department was called to put out the fire. The fire was more than the county fire department could handle. Someone suggested that a nearby volunteer bunch be called. Despite some doubt that the volunteer outfit would be of any assistance, the call was made. The volunteers arrived in a dilapidated old fire truck. They rumbled straight towards the fire, drove right into the middle of the flames and stopped! The firemen jumped off the truck and frantically started spraying water in all directions. Soon they had snuffed out the center of the fire, breaking the blaze into two easily-controlled parts. Watching all this, the farmer was so impressed with the volunteer fire department's work and was so grateful that his farm had been spared, that right there on the spot he presented the volunteers with a check for $1,000. A local news reporter asked the volunteer fire captain what the department planned to do with the funds. "That ought to be obvious," he responded, wiping ashes off his coat. "The first thing we're gonna do is get the brakes fixed on our fire truck!"

A minister was pulled over for speeding. As the cop was about to write the ticket, the minister said to him, “Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.”The cop handed the minister the ticket and said, “Go thou and sin no more.”

A COUNTRY ROAD COFFEE TOUR WITH MY 2 LEGGED BUDDY ON A SUNNY SATURDAY MORNING

DSC_0006

Had ourselves a real mighty fine Saturday morning going on here with sunny skies, warmer temperatures, and big white fluffy clouds.  It was my turn to drive as my good friend Richard and I headed out on one of our twice monthly country road coffee tours.  Normally we go Thursdays but we had to take a rain check because of rain last Thursday.  This mornings travels took us down to Grand Bend where we picked up a couple Horton coffees with matching banana muffins.  A swing down around the beach and then off out into the countryside breezing through the little hamlets of Zurich and Varna along the way.  Another very enjoyable manic Magpie morning.

For lunch it was another yummy chicken pot pie from M&M MEATS followed by a peanut butter and honey sandwich.  My PB & H sandwiches are always made with whole wheat flat bread.  I roll it up like a wrap and that way the sticky peanut butter and honey can drip out of the ends all over my shirt and pants and shoes.  By the way my peanut butter of choice is the kind made with no additives like salt etc.  It’s the real stuff made with 100% peanuts.  If I can’t find the real stuff then my next choice of peanut butter is Jif of course.  For supper tonight it was 2 chocolate chip cookies followed by a nice bowl of porridge with a banana sliced on top.  An hour later I chased that down with a peanut butter and honey sandwich without even dripping anything on my shoes for a change.

AT FIRST I DIDN’T KNOW WHO THIS WAS AT THE FEEDER TODAY BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE A FEMALE BALTIMORE ORIOLE….I STILL HAVEN’T SEEN THE MALE

Again not much to write about tonight as I simply puttered around in the flower gardens doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that thoroughly enjoying the fact I had a bit of that and a bit of this to do.  Quite often now more than ever before I feel so fortunate to be at this place in life I am now at.  I had written more about this but when I read it back to myself it sounded so sappy I had no choice but to delete it…………………..

DSC_0005GROANER’S CORNER:(( A woman was terribly overweight, so her doctor put her on a diet. "I want you to eat regularly for 2 days, then skip a day, and repeat this procedure for 2 weeks. The next time I see you, you'll have lost at least 5 pounds." When the woman returned, she shocked the doctor by losing nearly 20 pounds. "Why, that's amazing!" the doctor said, "Did you follow my instructions?"   The woman nodded. "I'll tell you though, I thought I was going to drop dead that third day."  "From hunger, you mean?" "No, from skipping."

Hillary Clinton died and went to heaven. St. Peter approached her and says "Hillary, I know you're 'somebody' down on Earth, but up here, you're just another person. And, I'm swamped right now, so have a seat and I'll get back with you as soon as I can." So Hillary sits down and begins looking at her surroundings. She notices a huge wall that extends as far as the eye can see. And on that wall there are millions and millions of clocks. She can't help notice that on occasion some of the clocks jump ahead fifteen minutes. When St. Peter returns she asks "What's the deal with the clocks?" St. Peter replies "There is a clock on the wall for every married man on Earth." Hillary asks, "Well what does it mean when the clock jumps ahead 15 minutes?" St. Peter replies, "That means that the man that belongs to that clock has just committed adultery." Hillary asks, "Well, is my husband's clock on the wall?" St. Peter replies, "Of course not. God has it in his office and is using it for an electric fan."

RAINS QUIT IN THE NIGHT LEAVING A CLOUDY DAMP DAY….PHEEBS AND I HAD THE FURNACE ON

DSC_0010

BOTH THE SHELL AND SOLO GAS BARS IN GODERICH HAND OUT DOGGY TREATS AND PHEEBS KNOWS IT……HERE WE ARE THIS MORNING AT THE EAST END SHELL

Feeling cold and damp this morning with fog in the tree tops there was nothing too inspiring to even get me out of my PJ’s but out of them I finally did get.  Later dressed in my usual semi winter attire we cranked up the Jeep and fired up the heater.

DIDN’T SEEM TO FOGGY IN THE PARK BUT SOON AS WE GOT OUT FROM UNDER ALL THE TREES IT WAS A BIT OF A PEA SOUPER AS WE GOT CLOSER TO THE LAKE

DSC_0003

At least it wasn’t pouring rain in Bayfield but we did run into a rainy drizzle in Goderich.  Despite that we took ourselves for a walk along the Lake Huron shoreline at the doggy walking area.

CAN YOU FIND THE LONE CREW MEMBER IN THIS PHOTO??

Popped into Walmart for a few things and snagged 3 more reasonably priced perennials.  A yellow Dahlia, an orange Hibiscus and a pink and rose colored Dipladnia.  With the ground soft and wet after an all day rain Thursday it was a good day for planting things so that’s what I did.  Other than that there wasn’t much of anything else going on.  For lunch we heated up a chicken pot pie and for supper I popped 6 breaded chicken pieces in the oven and toasted them up.  Had meant to pick up some cream corn this morning to go with them but I forgot to write cream corn in my book so of course I forgot cream corn.  Cream corn is my fav.  I like it on pumpkin pie:))

I WATCHED THESE CANADA GEESE GUYS WALK ALL THE WAY AROUND THAT WATER PUDDLE ON THEIR WAY TO THE BEACH FOR A SWIM

I actually kicked the furnace on this afternoon to get the dampness out of the house and it's almost June already.  Happy to finally see the sun late this afternoon.  Looking ahead on our weather site for the next 14 days there is not one day that even reaches 70F.

HEADING HOME WE COULD SEE MIST COMING OFF FARMER’S BARE FIELDS AS WARMER EARTH MET COOLER AIR

DSC_0011DSC_0012

It seems like time is really flying since we arrived home from the Southwest back in the early part of March.  Possibly less than 6 months before we might be back on the road again.  We have talked about leaving later for the southwest this year but not sure.  Unlike our first half dozen years RVing we're not quite as keen on being away as long anymore.  If we leave later then we can come home a tad later.  To early to be thinking about departure dates of course but the thought just happened to pop into my mind while sitting here at the keyboard and sometimes things popping into my mind have a habit of popping onto the screen in front of me. GROANER’S CORNER:((  The American Medical Association has weighed in on Trump's health care package:
The Allergists were in favor of scratching it, but the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.
The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.
Meanwhile, Obstetricians felt certain everyone was laboring under a misconception, while the Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted.
Pathologists yelled, 'Over my dead body!' while the Pediatricians said, 'Oh, grow up!'
The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it.
Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing and the Internists claimed it would indeed be a bitter pill to swallow.
The Plastic Surgeons opined that this proposal would 'put a whole new face on the matter.'
The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pi**ed off at the whole idea.
Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas, and those lofty Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say 'No.'
In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the ***holes in Washington.
