DSC_0012

WELL OKAY I GUESS IF YOU CHANGED A FEW LETTERS AROUND IT MIGHT READ ‘POLLY WOGS AND LILY PADS’

Out of apples for my morning shakes Pheebs and I headed off to Goderich shortly after eight.  Picked up half a dozen other items and came home without the apples.  Not that there weren't any apples in Goderich.  I just plumb forgot to pick me up the apples.   Not a good start to my day.  I'll have another go at it tomorrow.  In the meantime I'll leave you with a few photos I took this morning...................

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A doctor enters into a patient's room and informs the patient that he has good news and bad news. He then asks the patient which news he would like to hear. The patient responds, "Doctor, give me the good  news."The doctor says, "Well we are gonna name a disease after you."

-------------------------

The man looked a little worried when the doctor came in to administer his annual physical, so the first thing the doctor did was to ask whether anything was troubling him.  "Well, to tell the truth, Doc, yes," answered the patient. "You see, I seem to be getting forgetful. I'm never sure I can remember where I put the car, or whether I answered a letter, or where I'm going, or what it is I'm going to do once I get there -- if I get there. So, I really need your help. What can I do?"  The doctor mused for a moment, then answered in his kindest tone, "Pay me in advance."

IT’S NOT OFTEN I GET TO BE THE PASSENGER IN A VEHICLE

DSC_0031
PRIMROSE
It’s not often I get to be the passenger in a vehicle but with some one else driving this morning I was able to sit back and enjoy a morning coffee with a slightly different perspective on the marvelous countryside going by.  Even had a carrot muffin all to myself for a change.  I’m talking about my good friend and neighbor Richard of course and this morning it was his turn to drive.  We were off once again on one of our country road coffee tours.  Covered a few miles and even managed a stop at the Bannockburn Cemetery to visit a late friend and past neighbor of ours.  Despite Richard being 80 and myself being 72 our conversations still at times revolve around same or similar topics we used to talk about 40 years ago and at other times it is our ages and stage of life that we are both now at that come into play and take center stage.  And it is those center stage talks which are becoming more meaningful all the time as we both take stock and understand only to well the realities of our shrinking futures.  Our conversations are always, always, always, of great interest to me.  Another morning well spent:))

Morning clouds finally began dispersing by early afternoon bringing temperatures up a tad.  Didn’t take long for that sun to lure me out of the house.   Always nice to feel warm air on one’s skin.  Notice I said warm air and not hot air!!

SO FAR I HAVE ONLY COUNTED FOUR FROGS IN OUR POND BUT I’M SURE THAT NUMBER WILL GROW
Didn’t have any photos for today’s post so slipped out into our front yard just before supper late this afternoon with my camera and telephoto lens to nab a few photos for my post tonight.  When I did travelogues (slides and projector) way back in the late 80’s I would tell folks in the audience they didn’t have to go to far off exotic places to find nice photos.  All they had to do was step outside of their house and look around in their own yards and flowerbeds.

So I go out to the Motorhome last week to put out the slide and vacuum the carpet.  To do that I put the key in the ignition and turned it to ‘Accessory’.  Pressed the button and out went the slide.  Vacuumed the caret and everything was fine so I exited the coach.   I come back a day and a half later and see the ignition key is still on.  Fearing a dead battery I turn the key and the engine started up fine.  To smarten myself up I give myself a swift kick in the *ss.  So I go out to the Motorhome several days later and decide to put the slide out again after all the heavy rain we had.  To do that I of course put the key in the ignition and once again turned it to ‘Accessory’.  Pressed the button and out went the slide.  Checked for any leaks and decided to leave the slide out.  Still smarting from my last kick in the *ass I quickly exit the coach.  I come back three days later and see for the second time in a row I had once again left the ignition key on.  Fearing a dead battery I turn the key and my fear is instantly realized.  The battery is stone dead.  Luckily we have an onboard ‘battery boost’ in the Motorhome so I was able to start the engine with the coach batteries and leave the rig running for awhile to charge up the engine battery.  Before exiting the coach this time I hauled off and gave myself a big double whammy kick in the *ss.  Of course I right away forget I left the Motorhome running but luckily I see the lights on about 20 minutes later.  Ya you guessed it, kick number three!!  And do you know besides a sprained ankle I’ve had trouble sitting down ever since!!  I have vowed to never ever put the rig’s slide out again or start the Motorhome up unless I have adult supervision with me!! @#!!%&**

Feeling a little unbalanced with my new haircut I had to step myself up in front of the mirror this morning and remove a third of my beard just to get myself back on the straight and level again.  The two parts of my beard I had to hack off were the sections between my lower sideburns and chin.   Wasn’t growing in all that well anyway and I had been thinking about taking it off for about a week or so.

‘HEY WHATCHA LOOKIN AT OVER THERE FELLA’
Now that Spring is well underway and we transition from the grey dregs of Winter to Spring’s blossoming color wherever one looks I again thought to myself today how fortunate we are to live where we do and experience the wondrous seasons changing from Winter to Spring, Spring to Summer and Summer to Fall.  Nothing wondrous about Fall’s change to Winter though.  Well not in my books anyway and of course that is why we prefer to head south each year in late October.  From now until about the end of June is one of our nicest times of the year here as well as September to mid and sometimes late October.  As much as I like Spring my very favorite time of year is Autumn of course.  Oh Geeezzzzzz maybe I shouldn’t have said that because the thought just occurred to me, ‘hmmmmm I wonder how many days it is until…………….  Awwww Nuts!!

GROANER’S CORNER:(( An elderly couple were killed in an accident and found themselves being given a tour of heaven by Saint Peter. "Here is your ocean side condo, over there are the tennis courts, swimming pool, and two golf courses. If you need any refreshments, just stop by any of the many bars located throughout the area."  "Heck, Gloria," the old man hissed when Saint Peter walked off, "we could have been here ten years ago if you hadn't insisted we try all that stupid oat bran, wheat germ, and low-fat diet crap!"
