PHEEBS DROPS BY TO SEE HER ALPACA LLAMA AND ELK PALS AND COPING WITH LIFE IN A REALISTIC WAY IS NOT ALWAYS EASY

DSC_0031

THE EYE OF THE ELK IS UPON ME

Despite most of Friday and Saturday being lost days my Spirits were lifted by warmer weather now temporarily upon us and due to the fact it was not raining Sunday morning Pheebs and I hit the road again looking for some new photos for tonight's post.

Near Dungannon Ontario Pheebs and I dropped around to see her Alpaca Pals.

Not sure if it might have had something to do with a 'night aide' medication change last week or not but these occasional bouts of short depression somehow seem to sneak up behind me when I'm least expecting it and whallop me a good one for a few days.  In those times I have no positive energy or interest to get anything done and that includes blogging, photography, or traveling anywhere, my 3 favorite hobbies.  TV, reading, listening to music and sitting quietly gazing off into space is generally my lot for a few days and I have to be thankful it doesn't stretch beyond that or become a permanent thing.  However my personality is such that even at the best of times it seems to always have a low depressive edge to it and I've been that way for as long as I can remember.  I'm not what you would call a happy-happy joyous everything's wonderfully perfect type of every day person.  Sometimes I wish I was but that would be too totally unrealistic for me.  So it is what is and I like many other folks cope on a daily basis with the challenges of life in a realistic way.  Some of us admit our struggles with depression from time to time while others choose to put on an every day happy face and hide it.  I have posted my thoughts on depression maybe half a dozen times in previous blog posts so it's not something new to me.

GROANER’S CORNER:(( Mr. Dewey was briefing his client, who was about to testify in his own defense. "You must swear to tell the complete truth. Do you understand?"  The client replied that he did. The lawyer then asked, "Do you know what will happen if you don't tell the truth?"  The client looked back and said, "I imagine that our side will win."

I informed my grandson that our cousin was coming to the swimming pool with us. He sighed, "Oh no. The H word." Alarmed, I inquired, "The H word?"  "Yup," he answered. "Hugs!"

Bear with me folks I’m dealing with a bit of depression at the moment and as soon as I can get myself on the other side of it I hope to be back putting words together again.

GROANER’S CORNER:(( Howard County Police officers still write their reports by hand, and the data is entered later by a computer tech into their database. One theft report stated that a farmer had lost 2,025 pigs. Thinking that to be an error, the tech called the farmer directly. "Is it true Mr. (Smith) that you lost 2,025 pigs?" she asked.
"Yeth." lisped the farmer. Being a Howard County girl herself, the tech entered: "Subject lost 2 sows and 25 pigs."

FINISHING A GOOD BOOK IS SOMETIMES LIKE BIDDING FAREWELL TO A DEAR OLD FRIEND

ON GOLDEN POND

With morning temperatures in the mid 30’s it was cold, damp and cloudy.  Certainly not very inspirational for heading outside.  However facing a second day of sitting in the house it was outside Pheebs and I went in search of a photo or two.  Good luck I thought to myself as we headed fired up Libby.  Finding even one photo on a dull bleak morning like this was going to be a challenge.  Oh ya and I’m back into my lined winter pants and heavy flannel shirts again:((

With a light drizzle in the air we made our way up to Goderich for a spin down around the harbor.  Stopped and browsed through some driftwood pieces on the beach then headed off to find us a few groceries.  Needed some lettuce, celery, and apples for my morning shakes.  With those needed items finally in tow we headed home.

Spent a fair bit of my afternoon in our sunroom’s cozy corner reading and alas finally came to the end of my current read, The Diary of a Forty Niner.  I always find it kinda sad when reaching the final chapter of a book I am enjoying.  Generally I become wrapped up in the storied characters and it’s like saying a last good-bye to an old friend or friends in the end.  One wishes the story would go on and on but there is always that final chapter.  I prefer reading about real people and real places and this story played out northeast of Sacramento California through the years 1850 to 1852 near a growing little town called Nevada, now Nevada City.  I enjoy books written in a plain understandable way and this Diary was such a book.  History was one of my favorite topics in school many years ago and I still enjoy reading about it all these years later.

BESIDES BLACK SQUIRRELS WE HAVE SMALLER RED SQUIRRELS HERE AS WELL

First hint of sunshine finally made it’s way to Earth around 3 this afternoon and landed on our sunroom floor.   Skies continued to clear and by late afternoon the predominate color overhead through the pine trees was blue.  Now if we can just get some warm air happening again that would be nice.

GROANER’S CORNER:((A man takes his place in the theater, but his seat is too far from the stage.
He whispers to the usher, "This is a mystery, and I have to watch a mystery close up. Get me a better seat, and I'll give you a handsome tip."
The usher moves him into the second row, and the man hands the usher a quarter.  The usher looks at the quarter, leans over and whispers, "The wife did it."

It was a baby mosquito's first day to fly out from home.  When the mosquito came back later that day, the father mosquito asked, "How was your journey?"  The baby mosquito replied, "It went great, everyone was clapping for me!"
