NOT LIKELY I WILL EVER CROSS THAT BORDER AGAIN

WITH NOT ENOUGH STRENGTH TO STAND ON ITS OWN, I DELICALATELY PROPPED UP OUR SINGLE CROCUS AGAINST A ROCK TO CATCH THE WARMING RAYS OF THE MORNING SUN
It was 9:15 when Pheebs and I slipped out under a cold (35'F) cloud cover for a car ride.  We didn't go too far because I was anxious to get home and get restarted on my carport storage area clean-up project.  It's quite a task but it has to be done.  I've always kind of enjoyed taking something that is a mess and making something positive out of it.  If all goes well it always leaves me with a sense of well being and accomplishment when it's done.  With our temps reaching over 40F by afternoon I also tackled the Subaru's interior.  Cleaned all the inside glass, vacuumed it, and shined up the dash area.  It is absolutely terrible the negative toll salt takes on vehicles over the winter.  Not only the exterior but the interior as well.  It gets into the carpets and rusts seat bolts, etc.  Note to self: move to a place where there is no ice and snow and corrosive road salt!!!!  For me, the great American Southwest was the answer but alas, those days are gone now.  With all the turmoil and uncertainty south of the border nowadays, it is not likely I will ever cross that border again.

CLEANING SUBIE'S INTERIOR

Talked to Aunt Jean last night and she's doing as well as can be expected.  Her legs are becoming weaker and she tires quickly.  Luckily, she only has to be on oxygen at night while sleeping and not during the day.  Her spirits are good but knows her days are slipping by.  And, she is quite alright with that.

CLEANING UP THE CARPORT'S STORAGE AREA IS A DAUNTING TASK
The blog is a bit later tonight because I was out in the countryside earlier taking a few pics of the full Moon rising.  I was a few miles west of Clinton on Tower Hill Road looking East.

Al's Music Box:)) Carolina in My Mind is a song originally written and performed by the American singer-songwriter James Taylor.  It was Taylor's second single from his 1968 self-titled debut album. Taylor wrote Carolina in My Mind while in England recording for the Beatles' label Apple Records, and the song's themes reflect his homesicknessat the time. Released as a single in 1969, the song earned critical praise but not commercial success. It was re-recorded for Taylor's 1976 Greatest Hits album in the version that is most familiar to listeners. It has been a staple of Taylor's concert performances over the decades of his career. Carolina in My Mind is one of the most covered contemporary folk songs of all time, the most famous of which being covers by American singer-songwriter John Denver and American rock music duo the Everly Brothers.  Strongly tied to a sense of geographic place, "Carolina in My Mind" has been called an unofficial state anthem for North Carolina.  It is also an unofficial song of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, being played at athletic events and pep rallies and sung by the graduating class at every university commencement.  The association of the song with the state is also made in written works of both fiction and non-fiction. It has become one of Taylor's most critically praised songs and one that has great popularity and significance for his audience.

POOPED AFTER HELPING ME WITH THE CLEAN-UP TODAY, PHEEBS CATCHES A FEW WELL-DESERVED WINKS UNDER THE SUN'S  WARM RAYS
GROANER'S CORNER:(( At the seventh tee, Joe sliced his shot deep into a wooded ravine. He took his eight iron and clambered down the embankment in search of his lost ball. After many long minutes of hacking at the underbrush, he spotted something glistening in the leaves. As he drew nearer, he discovered that it was an eight iron in hands of a skeleton!  Joe immediately called out to his friend, 'Jack, I've got trouble down here!'  'What's the matter?' Jack asked from the edge of the ravine.  'Bring me my wedge,' Joe shouted. 'You can't get out of here with an eight iron!'

A schoolteacher asked her primary six class to construct sentences with the words: defeat, detail, defense.  There was a pause before a pupil raised his hand and said he could make a sentence with them; "The cow jumped over defense and detail went over defeat."

  3. Agree with Arrowhead Gramma :o) The moon was called the Pink Moon. By George, you captured it PINK! It was orangey-yellow here. Called the Pink Moon by Native Americans because of the pink flowers that bloom at that time. Great photo of beautiful Miss Kelly. Belly rubs to Pheebs.
