I GUESS EVERY DAY CAN'T QUITE BE A GREAT BIG GROOVY ADVENTURE

AN OLD DILAPIDATED PICNIC BENCH FROZEN IN PLACE
Sunshine, but cold.  Wished I had something interesting to write about.  Pheebs and I scooted around a couple country roads and found a few pics.

LOOKS LIKE THIS FARMER IS ABOUT TO SPREAD SOME HEALTHY MANURE ON HIS FIELD
 UNUSUAL SNOWDRIFTS PERHAPS
NOPE, JUST A ROW OF STRAWBALES WRAPPED IN WHITE PLASTIC TO KEEP THEM DRY OVER WINTER
It was an inside afternoon until 2 o'clock when I managed to gather up enough energy to boot myself out the door, hook up the utility trailer to the car, and load it up with pine needles and broken branches from the pile I had gathered up out by the road.  Off to the Park's recycle yard, emptied the trailer, and came back for a second load.  Frank, the snowplow guy, rolled up with his garden tractor and helped me load up the remaining branches and needles.  And, that finally cleans up most of the piles of needles and branches from our recent Spring storm.  Following that, I drove Lorraine (Woodsy) to Bayfield's Foodland where she picked up a few things.  Back in the mid-eighties when Lorraine and I were together, I gave her a pet name that I still call her by to this very day.  So, if I refer to her from time to time as 'Wizzy' or the 'Wiz', just know it is Lorraine to who I am referring too.  Some of her friends in Stratford also call her 'Lou':))
WIZ TOOK THIS CANDID PHOTO OF ME HOOKING UP THE UTILITY TRAILER THIS AFTERNOON

JUST AN OLD BARN ALONG THE WAY
Well, it looks like I did find a few things to write about after all.  Not too exciting of course but I guess every day can't quite be a great big groovy adventure.

FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN APRIL THERE SURE ISN'T MUCH COLOR IN OUR FORESTS YET
SPOTTED THE FROZEN REMAINS OF A CENTURY-OLD HURON COUNTY WINTER WOOD SNAKE
EVEN THE GREY SWAMP WATER WAS FROZE UP SOLID THIS MORNING
AN OLD FOREST STUMP RIDDLED WITH WOODPECKER HOLES
AND HOW NICE TO SEE A TOUCH OF LAST AUTUMN'S COLOR
Al's Music Box:)) One Day Soon by Canadian musician and songwriter BurtonCummings. He is best known for leading The Guess Who during that band's most successful period from 1965 to 1975, and for a lengthy solo career.  Cummings has been inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and has been cited as one of the most influential performers in Canadian rock music.  He has also been named as an officer of the Order of Canada and Order of Manitoba.  The Burton Cummings Theatre and Burton Cummings Community Centre in Winnipeg are named in his honour.  In 1964 Cummings joined local R&B band the Deverons (not to be confused with an American group called the Devrons) on piano and vocals. The Deverons released two singles locally in Winnipeg. In early 1966, shortly after his 18th birthday, Cummings joined another regionally successful band, Chad Allan & The Expressions, to replace departed keyboardist Bob Ashley. Cummings also took on lead vocal duties in conjunction with group leader Chad Allan.  This group had been subjected to a record company publicity stunt in which their 1965 hit single 'Shakin' All Over' was released anonymously with the message "Guess Who?" to trick listeners into thinking it was by a famous British Invasion band. Disc jockeys announced the single as being by someone called "Guess Who?", forcing the group to accept the nickname; their latest releases had been issued under the name Chad Allan & The Expressions with "Guess Who?" displayed prominently on the covers.  A few months after Cummings joined Chad Allan & The Expressions, Allan left his namesake band, leaving Cummings as the sole singer. The band's name was changed to simply The Guess Who, with Cummings becoming one of the band's primary songwriters in conjunction with guitarist Randy Bachman. Their first album under this name was It's Time in the summer of 1966.  The band became internationally successful upon the release of their album American Woman in 1970, which reached the top ten in several countries and made The Guess Who the first Canadian band to achieve a number one single in the United States.  Bachman then left The Guess Who, and Cummings continued to lead the band through several more internationally successful albums.  Cummings and drummer Garry Peterson were the only consistent members of the band during this era. Cummings disbanded The Guess Who in 1975 due to songwriting disagreements with guitarist Dominic Troiano.

PHEEBS HAS BEEN HAVING DIFFICULTY JUMPING UP ON HER COUCH SO I HAVE BROUGHT IN HER OLD COMFY DOGBED FROM THE CARPORT STORAGE AREA

GROANER'S CORNER:(( She greeted her husband and then watched in horror as he sat down to his dinner. To her surprise, the husband really enjoyed his dinner. "Darling, this is the best dinner you have made for me in forty years of marriage. You can make this for me any old day."  Needless to say, every bridge night from then on, the woman made her husband the same dish. She told her bridge cronies about it and they were all horrified.  "You're going to kill him!" they exclaimed.  Two months later, her husband died.  The women were sitting around the table playing bridge when one of the cronies said, "You killed him! We told you that feeding him that cat food every week would do him in! How can you just sit there so calmly and play bridge knowing you murdered your husband?"  The wife stoically replied, "I didn't kill him. He fell off the mantel while he was cleaning himself."

Two old women were sitting on a bench waiting for their bus. The buses were running late, and a lot of time passed. Finally, one woman turned to the other and said, "You know, I've been sitting here so long, my butt fell asleep!'.
The other woman turned to her and said "I know! I heard it snoring!"

A Manager of a retail clothing store is reviewing a potential employee’s application and notices that the man has never worked in retail before. He says to the man, “For a man with no experience, you are certainly asking for a high wage.”  “Well Sir,” the applicant replies, “the work is so much harder when you don’t know what you’re doing!"

  1. I don't think you have mentioned before that you knew Lorraine(Woodsy) back in the '80s..... was that before you knew Kelly? I thought you said you knew Lorraine because she was a friend of Kelly's...I'm getting confused.....
