This morning, an orange Sun and pinkish sky made its way through the Pine trees and lifted my sagging spirits. It almost made me want to run outside and play in the snow. Yes, I do sometimes suffer from delirious spasms of ridiculous thinking. With overhead blue skies beckoning, Pheebs and I headed east out of the Park down Bayfield River Road. North on Parr line we ambled up to Telephone Road and turned West to begin making our way back home. A brisk southerly wind had some ground drifting going on but nothing serious. Took a few photos and called it day as the seemingly ever-present cloud cover rolled back in. The rest of the day just kinda went downhill from there. I haven't felt much like my old writing self or camera guy lately. Maybe I just need to put my keyboard and camera in the closet for a while and take a break from things.................

MORNING'S SUNRISE THROUGH THE PINE TREES |
------------------------------------
My friend just got back from a trip to Switzerland. I asked him what he thought about the scenery. He said,“Oh, I couldn't see much. All the darn mountains were in the way.”
---------------------------------------
John Smith lived in Staten Island, New York and worked in Manhattan. He had to take the ferryboat home every night. One evening, he got down to the ferry and found there was a wait for the next boat, so John decided to stop at a nearby tavern. Before long he was feeling no pain. When he got back to the ferry slip, the ferryboat was just eight feet from the dock. Smith, afraid of missing this one and being late for dinner, took a running leap and landed right on the deck of the boat. "How did you like that jump, buddy?" said a proud John to a deck hand. "It was great," said the sailor. "But why didn't you wait? We were just pulling in!"

KELLY AND PHEEBS ENJOYING SOME CALIFORNIA SUNSHINE |
How about a new place for lunch? Or a day trip somewhere new? Or for even a few days? A change in scenery could be invigorating.
ReplyDeleteWinters with lots of snow seem to last forever don't they? Winter days are good days for reading or watching movies. Your picture of Kelly and RV Sue brought back old memories for me because I used to read RV Sue's blog and I remember her writing about Spike and Bridgit.

ReplyDeleteAnother great blog thanks for sharing it. It was 78deg here today.
Have a great evening
Al, tonight’s shining photo of Kelly is absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHer obvious internal beauty truly exemplifies her external beauty.
Thanks for sharing.
Hang in there - this winter seems (is) extraordinary grueling.
We are all behind you and will be waiting for you, should you take a (probably needed) respite.
By the way, you are always welcome to escape to the USA’s Southwest, or West Coast (California).
On second thought. Maybe not.
Sending warm wishes to you - to hopefully boost your spirits (at least a tiny bit) - and to melt that snow - and keep it away.

Nothing wrong with taking time to re-generis. Spring will be here soon.
ReplyDeleteWell, you're still taking fine photos like a camera guy, but taking a break is not forbidden as far as I know. Anyway, some really good photos today. And the one of Pheebs is poignant.
ReplyDeleteLove all your photos, but have a love of black n white photos. And you always catch the lovely shadows; what an eye! Of course, understandable to take some time off the blogging. We'll miss you, but will be right here whenever you can come back. Hopefully not too long... Barb M.
ReplyDeleteYour photos were once again great and I have really enjoyed the ones of the different birds in your yard over the last few weeks. It is understandable if you decide to take a break, but please log on with a sentence or two to let all of us know you are OK. You and Miss Pheebs take care and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI love your black and white photos of the trees and the snow fence. Such stark contrast is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's important to write and click for yourself so if you aren't inspired it's okay to take a break :-) We do want to know you're okay though so don't make us worry!! That's a great, and very rare, pic of RV Sue with Kelly. It's been years since I've seen anything from her :-( Love the country lane with the giant mountain at the top, so enchanting.
ReplyDeleteWe would all miss you terribly. Your photos and art gallery prove to me me daily that even in darkest grief, deadest winter, you find beauty in so many places around us. You help so many more folks than you know.
ReplyDeleteWell said, I totally agree ! 🌿 🌺 🌿 🌼
DeleteAl, you're not allowed to take a break!~ Reading your blog is too important for so many people! It's a good dose of mental health.
ReplyDeleteNo truer words have ever been spoken.
