SO NICE TO SEE SUNSHINE IN OUR FRONT YARD AND HEAR THE SOUNDS OF MELTING SNOW AND ICE OFF OUR ROOF |
With a number of stops in Goderich and not knowing how long I might be tied up at each stop, Subie and I headed off leaving Pheebs at home to guard the fort. First stop was McD's for a coffee to go with my second stop being, the frozen Goderich harbor. After a few pics I was off to ContinuIT where I dropped off my laptop computer that had suddenly gone dark on me last week. Without Kelly here now to troubleshoot and solve problems, I had no choice but to take it to a computer repair place. From there it was over to Bell Telephone to deal with a bill payment confusement. The CIBC bank was next followed by the Scotia Bank. And then back to Bell again before heading out to Goderich's east end for a treat of bacon and eggs at A&W. Pet Value was next for some doggy food and I followed that up with a stop at Walmart before finally heading home. Not my favorite way to spend a morning (except for the bacon & eggs) but some things had to be taken care of so that's what I did. I had a very happy little doggy waiting for when I arrived home. She was even happier when I pulled a snack out of my coat pocket from A&W.

Despite a biting cold east wind, how nice it was to see the Sun pop out by early afternoon and even nicer yet, how GREAT to see snow melting and running off our roof on the south side:))))) At 36F it felt almost tropical and I soon headed outside to partake in the feeling better air. Although the snow was heavy I moved some of it around and chopped up some softened ice on the front deck. It was just great to be outside doing something productive. I know we have more snowstorms and brutally cold weather ahead but at least today was a nice little teaser for better days in another month or so. And a great big thank you to Mother Nature for that.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( One night at the dinner table, the wife commented, 'When we were first married, you took the small piece of steak and gave me the larger. Now you take the large one and leave me the smaller. Don't you love me anymore?' 'Nonsense, darling,' replied the husband, 'you just cook better now.'---------------------------------------

A man was giving a speech at his lodge meeting. He got a bit carried away and talked for two hours. Finally, he realized what he had done and said, "I'm sorry I talked so long. I left my watch at home." A voice from the back of the room replied, "There's a calendar behind you..."

Almost fell off my chair laughing at that long speech in lodge joke, "there's a calendar behind you". hahahahhaaa, good one. So glad you had some sunshine, dripping snow/ice and an uneventful drive to do those errands. Hope the computer solution is quick and easy. Pheebs was worried about you being gone so long, but the treat in your pocket was worth it! Barb M.
ReplyDeleteThank you for keeping the blog going Al. Tom & Kathy are still enjoying your life adventures.
ReplyDeleteWe are spending a month in Hawaii, love the warm weather.
Today Roberta Flack passed away. That put me into a musical nostalgic mood. I played Harvest Moon and thought of you and Kelly.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Al, for providing some stability and peace in an upside down world. Much needed. Much appreciated. The Bayfield Bunch blog. Please take care of yourself and dear Pheebs!
ReplyDeleteHappy that you had a sunny day. Ours was rainy, but needed. Cute Kelly pictures today. Love the first one. Thanks for the photo of the RR wheels under the digger. Neat to see. Sending some love & hugs to you and Pheebs.
ReplyDeleteI think the picture of Kelly "somewhere in New Mexico" was taken at Valley of the Fires Recreational Area near Carrizozo. We’ve camped there many times.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a really busy morning! At least the snow is melting now.
ReplyDeleteYou have such an eye for color and shape, and I was happy you pointed out the track wheels under the cleaning machine. I love taking time to actually stop and look at each photo and art piece, as the colors in the art and the scale of such huge machines makes my brain happy!
