HAD THEY FOUND SOMETHING MAYBE THEY COULD HAVE FIXED SOMETHING

My mood today matched the weather.  Overcast.  A half-hearted drive down Bayfield River Road and back home.  Photos are always out there but I wasn't seeing them today so tonight's pics are a few left-overs from this past week.  I'll give it another go tomorrow.

OUR AREA'S WHEAT HARVEST IS PRETTY MUCH OVER FOR ANOTHER YEAR

Kelly phoned shortly after 9 a.m. earlier today and said her PICC Line was put into her upper arm first thing this morning.  I had it wrong in Thursday's post thinking it went somewhere in the neck and shoulder area.  That would have been a Port Line.  Kelly thinks they wouldn't have gone to the trouble of putting this PICC line in if they were just going to send her home in a few days.  Something might be up.

KELLY'S DOUBLE PICC LINE IN HER UPPER ARM
KELLY'S CURRENT IV TREE AND I THINK THAT CREAMY-LOOKING BAG MAY BE A VANILLA MILKSHAKE...YA RIGHT!!
We're beginning to think that because of Kelly's rapidly worsening condition, the doctors are now considering having to go a different route to stabilize her before an eventual liver transplant.
Kelly has heard some talk regarding a possible TIPS (Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt) procedure.

Despite the 95% humidity, I headed outside around noon, grabbed my leaf rake, and did a rather slow-motion walk around the back yard raking up pine needles along the way.  Trimmed back some branches around the T-intersection on the east side of our driveway as well.  Following that, I came back inside and threw my old sack of bones into the shower.  Had to get myself spiffed up for my afternoon haircut at the Bayfield Village Clippers.  And, that took place at 3 p.m.  I got it cut short enough this time that I shouldn't need another haircut until maybe around Christmas sometime.

Kelly called again late this afternoon and said the colonoscopy went okay but they did not find anything. Disappointing because if they had found something, maybe they could have fixed something.

 A PEACEFUL EVENING PASTURE

Al's Music Box:))  It Doesn't Matter Anymore is a pop ballad written by Paul Anka and recorded by Buddy Holly in 1958. The song was issued in January 1959, less than a month before Holly's death. "It Doesn't Matter Anymore" reached number 13 as a posthumous hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1959, shortly after Holly was killed in a plane crash on February 3, 1959. The single was a two-sided hit, backed with "Raining in My Heart". "It Doesn't Matter Anymore" was Holly's last US Top 20 hit and featured the orchestral backing of Dick Jacobs. It was also successful in the United Kingdom, where it became the country's first posthumous number 1 hit.  The song was recorded in mid-October 1958 in New York City. Paul Anka wrote it specifically for Holly. He donated his royalties from the song to Holly's wife. He said: "'It Doesn't Matter Anymore' has a tragic irony about it now, but at least it will help look after Buddy Holly's family. I'm giving my composer's royalty to his widow - it's the least I can do."

'My name is Andrew,' replied his son.

The correct answer is Three...
The left ear, the right ear, and the final front ear.

9-1-1, what is your emergency?"
"Help! I was hunting in the woods with my friend, and he suddenly dropped dead for no reason! Oh my God, I'm freaking out!!"
"Calm down, sir, we'll get you through this. The first thing we need to do is make sure that your friend really is dead."  "All right, hold on a second."  BLAM!  "Okay, now what?"

  2. Of course I had to look up TIPS, and it doesn't seem as awful as I was afraid it was. Essentially a stent to improve blood flow, right? And that can help relieve those dreadful symptoms she has. So if that's what they have in mind...not as scary as I thought. Well, it's scary, but makes sense and worth a try. Hang in there. One day at a time...

  3. I sure hope they find something soon. As Judith says, one day at a time. Thinking of you two.

  4. Seeing Kelly's arm with the PICC lines brought back memories from 13 years ago. Seems like maybe they are really trying to get to the root of Kelly's issue and not in a hurry to send her home. Prayers continue for Kelly and of course, Aunt Jean too. Take care Al and keep the home fires going.

  6. My sister had that shunt for bleeding from liver disease. I was wondering why the doctors hadn't suggested it sooner. It truly was a life saver. She lived many years symptom free. Praying for the three of you and Aunt Jean also.
