WE'LL DEAL WITH TOMORROW WHEN THE SUN COMES UP

If I was a betting person I would have lost money in betting that Kelly would end up back in the hospital last night.  She made it through the night okay and slept reasonably well.  After 'much discussion' this morning Kelly finally called London's University Hospital to speak with the on-call liver co-ordinator person.  After explaining her situation the lady said for Kelly to double up on her 'water pills' and see if that helps.  If not, she is to head for London's Emergency at University Hospital.  Wanting to be sure the Subaru had a full tank of gas, Pheebs and I quickly slipped into Bayfield earlier this morning and filled it up.  We were back home within 20 minutes just in case.  Kelly took her blood pressure this afternoon (103/75) and went to her bedroom to lie down for a while.  If she lays on her back the stomach pain doesn't bother her as much.  Awakening later and feeling weak she fielded some phone calls and had some soup and crackers. We talked some more about her condition and she said she wants to give the water pills a chance to work.  So with that, she went back to bed again.  The bottom line with Kelly is that she doesn't want to go to Emerge on a Sunday and then sit for endless hours in a room waiting to be seen with a bunch of sick people around her wheezing and coughing.  She figures her chances of quality care are better on a weekday when the hospital is back to full strength rather than the skeleton crew working the weekend.  Each time I asked her how she was feeling today, her answer was always the same....weak.  At the time of posting this tonight, we're doing okay.  She seems to be feeling a bit stronger than she did last night at this time.  The soreness has lessened in her abdomen. We'll see what happens overnight and deal with tomorrow when the Sun comes up.

What is Ascites::
Ascites usually occurs when the liver stops working properly, leading to a build-up of fluid in the abdominal area.  A doctor may diagnose ascites when more than 25 milliliters of fluid builds up inside the abdomen. When the liver malfunctions, fluid fills the space between the abdominal lining and the organs.  If severe, ascites may be painful.  The problem may keep one from moving around comfortably.  Ascites can set the stage for an infection in your abdomen.  Fluid may also move into one's chest and surround the lungs.

 YES, THAT'S KELLY
Al's Music Box:)) I Love How You Love Me is a song written by Barry Mann and Larry Kolber. It was a 1961 Top Five hit for the pop girl group The Paris Sisters.  The Paris Sisters recorded "I Love How You Love Me" at Gold Star Studios in the autumn of 1961 with Phil Spector as their producer. The group vocalized repeatedly to a piano accompaniment until Spector was satisfied with the balance between the voices, after which a string arrangement which Spector worked on over several days with Hank Levine was added. The song featured a spoken recitation by lead singer Priscilla Paris, speaking the first half of the repeated first verse in an unsung manner over the instrumental break.  According to Lester Sill, with whom Spector was then staying, Spector would bring the tapes for "I Love How You Love Me" from Gold Star Studios every evening to review in his room: "he would wake me up at three or four in the morning, listening to [the song] over and over again at a very low level." Sill says Spector "must have remixed the strings on that song thirty times; then listened to it for another four or five days before he was sure it was right. Then finally when the record was pressed he listened to the pressing for another two or three days before he gave it an approval."

GROANER'S CORNER:(( One bright, beautiful Sunday morning, the townspeople were in church, listening to the organ play. Suddenly, Satan appeared at the front of the church. Everyone started screaming and running for the front entrance, trampling each other in a frantic effort to get away from evil incarnate.  Soon everyone was evacuated from the Church, except for one elderly gentleman who sat calmly in his pew, not moving, seemingly oblivious to the fact that God's ultimate enemy was in his presence. Now this confused Satan a bit, so he walked up to the man and said, "Don't you know who I am?" The man replied, "Yep, sure do." Satan asked, "Aren't you afraid of me?"  "Nope, sure ain't," said the man.  Satan was a little perturbed at this and queried, "Why aren't you afraid of me?"  The man calmly replied, "Been married to your sister for 48 years!"

- My wife said she'd like to have another baby...I agreed. The one we have is starting to annoy me.

Teacher: "Why are you late this morning?"
Student: "Its my alarm clock. Everyone got up except me!"
Teacher: How did the alarm clock make you the only one not to get up?"
Student: "There are eight of us in my family and the alarm clock was only set for seven."

  1. If it turns out you have to go, call an ambulance again to avoid the dreaded waiting room. Praying for you both. Peggy

    1. Calling an ambulance does not mean you won't go to the waiting room, at least in the US. You are triaged on arrival and sent to the appropriate area. From an old ER nurse.

    2. But Kelly and Al are NOT in the US. Last time Al drove Kelly, he told us that the wait would have been avoided if she had gone by ambulance.

  7. Had not realized the reason Kelly wanted so much to wait until the weekend is over! That does make sense. Hope tomorrow brings some peace.
