I JUST HAVE TO BE PATIENT WITH MYSELF

FOR ME, THIS IS WHAT I CALL A NICE-LOOKING SPRING DAY
On this sunny Monday morning, it was out to our gravel road walking spot for Pheebs and I.  Great to be out in the fresh air.  A short Jeep ride around a few familiar country roads and we headed for home.

AT THIS TIME OF YEAR IT'S ALL ABOUT THE GREEN
I FIGURE THIS IS AN OLD UFO LANDING SITE:))
A PIECE OF FARM MACHING WAITING TO BE HITCHED UP AND HAULED OFF TO WORK
Feeling energetic I wanted to get a lot of 'to-do' things stroked off my list.  After Saturday night's rain, I knew the Park's recycle area would be muddy so I didn't load my yard waste into the utility trailer Sunday.  I plan on doing that Tuesday.  Today I concentrated on our carport's storage area which is now cleaned up and reorganized for the summer.  I brought our battery-operated lawn mower out of storage and it's ready to go.  I'll take it for a walk around our bunny trail tomorrow and chew up the leaves on the path.  I charged up our battery-powered weed whacker too.  Hosed off Kelly's bicycle and added air to the tires.  I also gathered up more downed twigs and branches from the big windstorm a few days ago as well.

OUR FLOWERBED TRILLIUMS WILL SOON BE IN BLOOM
I was unable to get as much done as I would have liked today because my hip has been bothering me for the last few days.  It was fine this morning when Pheebs and I walked our country road but it became sorer the more I did around the yard later.  Resting it for a couple hours this afternoon took the soreness away and I was later able to take Pheebs for a walk over to the Park's pond and back with no problem.  I just have to be patient with myself.

SO FAR I HAVE COUNTED SIX FROGS IN OUR FRONT YARD FROG POND

PHEEBS ALWAYS LIKES TO HELP ME WITH THE YARD WORK
Kelly had an unexpected bout of chest pains last night that were severe enough to cause her to throw up.  She's doing okay today but those sudden chest pains were something new.  It's still over two months until her next Doctor's appointment at London's University Hospital.  She recently started another new heavier medication for the severe itching and maybe that had something to do with her chest pains.

Al's Music Box:)) Love Letters is a 1945 popular song with lyrics by Edward Heyman and music by Victor Young.  In 1962, Era Records released Ketty Lester's version of "Love Letters" as a single, backed by her version of "I'm a Fool to Want You".  Lester's recording of "Love Letters", which featured Lincoln Mayorga's sparse piano and organ arrangement and Earl Palmer on drums, reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1962. The single also reached No. 2 on the R&B chart and No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart, selling over 1 million copies, and was awarded a gold disc by the RIAA. In 1991, it was ranked 176th on the RIAA's list of the Songs of the Century.  Lester's version appeared in David Lynch's 1986 film Blue Velvet, playing during a police raid on Frank Booth (Dennis Hopper)'s apartment, and on its accompanying soundtrack album.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A man who had been in a mental institution for some years finally improved to the point where it was thought he might be released. The psychiatrist who ran the institution decided it was better to proceed with caution, and chose to interview him first.  "Tell me," said the doctor, "if we release you, as we are considering, what do you plan to do with your life?"  The inmate said, "It would be wonderful to get back to real life, and if I do, I will certainly refrain from making my former mistake. I was a nuclear physicist, you see, and it was the stress of my work in weapons research that helped to put me here. If I am released, I shall limit myself to work in pure theory, where I believe the situation will be less difficult and stressful."  "Wonderful," said the psychiatrist.  "Or else," continued the patient, "I might teach. There is something to be said for dedicating your life to expanding the knowledge of young people."  "Definitely," said the psychiatrist. "Then again, I might write. There is always a need for books on science, or I may even write a novel based on my experiences in the psychiatric institution."  "Another interesting possibility," agreed the doctor.  "And finally, if none of these things appeals to me, I can always continue to be a teakettle."

  1. Lovely photos, especially of the Spring flowers in bloom. With regards to maybe overdoing it with your hip, my husband used to say "moderation in all things." I think of this from time to time when I attempt to do more than I should.

  2. Gosh, I hope Kelly doesn't have any more chest pains. Seems like that should be looked at sooner than her appointment. It's hard to slow down for you with the hip when it feels so good. You've got lots of time to get chores done. Good healing to both of you!

  3. It is not fair for Kelly to have to endure so much discomfort and pain. I sure wish and hope for her to have a transplant soon. And, not to forget, we all have to get back into shape after a winter of less exercise and activity.

  4. I do hope things get sorted for Kelly sooner rather than later.
