I SUDDENLY REALIZED I DIDN'T HAVE MY CANE WITH ME

IT WAS A NICE MORNING FOR A COFFEE AND MUFFINS TOUR ON HURON COUNTIES BACK COUNTRY ROADS
I could tell by the slight orange tinge on our closed living room curtains that we had a nice sunrise going on outside this morning.  It was a clear blue sunny sky that lasted for the rest of the day:))

IT WAS SO NASTY COLD OUT THURSDAY MORNING KELLY AND PHEEBS ONLY MADE IT TO THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY BEFORE MAKING A U-TURN AND HEADING BACK INSIDE

LONG MORNING SHADOWS AND WAITING FOR MY BURGANDY VAN RIDE TO ROLL AROUND THE CORNER
With the assistance of my cane, I toddled out to the end of our driveway and took a few pics while waiting for Richard to pick me up.  Minutes later here came Richard's burgundy van.  Although a little slower than usual I didn't have much of a problem in getting myself aboard.  Off we went with our next stop being Bayfield's Tim Hortons for two coffees and two blueberry muffins to go.  What a beautiful looking morning it was as we slowly cruised along through the picturesque rural countryside.  Another couple of quality hours well spent.

WITH COFFEE AND MUFFINS IN HAND RICHARD AND I STOPPED ALONG THE BLUFFS OVERLOOKING LAKE HURON....BY THE WAY, THERE ARE 83 STEPS DOWN TO THE BEACH FROM HERE
THIS HANDSOME FELLOW DASHED OUT OF THE LANEWAY TO CHALLENGE OUR SLOW APPROACH
COUNTRY ROADS ARE IN THE PROCESS OF THAWING OUT
WHEN WILLOW BRANCHES TURN YELLOW. SPRING IS NOT FAR BEHIND
Kelly headed off to Goderich this morning to run a few errands and pick up a few groceries.  Returning home about 2 this afternoon I swear each one of her four bags of groceries felt like they were about 400 pounds apiece.  She also picked up a prescription of Tylenol 3 for me which I will phase in as I begin phasing out the stronger Percocets.  With one pain pill at a time I am getting through this and hope to be pill-free in maybe a couple of weeks.

THE WATER IN OUR FRONT YARD BIRD BATH IS THAWING OUT AGAIN FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME THIS WINTER
I accidentally made a little mistake this morning which actually indicated another degree of progress with my replaced hip.  With my mind not on what I was doing I headed out of the washroom and nearly made it to our living room before I suddenly realized that I didn't have my cane with me.  I immediately turned around and limped back to retrieve it with no damage done.  That was an unexpected but good sign of my progress.  I don't want to get ahead of myself but I'm thinking I might be able to walk without a cane before too long.  Now, I may be way out in left field on this one but we'll see.

WITH TEMPS REACHING 50F THIS AFTERNOON I EVEN LEFT THE SUNROOM'S PATIO DOOR OPEN FOR A WHILE
With it being nice out and feeling more mobile with each passing day Pheebs and I headed outside where I fired up our leaf blower and blew off all the gunk on our carport's cement floor.  Also blew off a lot of birdseed husks on our front porch and deck.  With that done I slipped around behind the house, retrieved one of our deck chairs, and dragged it around to the front and up onto our deck.  My reason for doing that is that I want to get myself out there on these upcoming sunny days and soak up some sunshine.  I also got a load of laundry done today plus my necessary hip exercises.

I DRAGGED THIS DECK CHAIR UP ONTO THE DECK TO PLANT MYSELF IN MAYBE TOMORROW TO MAYBE SOAK US SOME HEALING RAYS AND YES THAT'S THE PHEEBS PEEKING OUT THE DOOR
THE LEAF BLOWER IS OUT EARLY THIS YEAR
A Blast From Our Past::  Facebook threw us a few RV memories from this time years ago....On March 1st in Arizona's Cochise Country....Today We Met Two Incredible People And Their 106 Legged Family on February 28th, 2009 and also Sergeant John And His Hudson Hornets on March 1st a day later.

 "Wonderful!" "Wonderful!"

TEETERING AROUND ON THE END OF MY CANE THIS MORNING I MANAGED THIS  SHAKY SHOT OF PERIWINKLE EMERGING FROM OUR LATEST DUSTING OF SNOW
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A Texan was taking a taxi tour of London and was in a hurry. As they went by the Tower of London the cab driver explained what it was and that construction on it started in 1346 and was completed in 1412.  The Texan replied, "Shoot, a little old tower like that? In Houston, we'd have that thing up in two weeks!"  Next, they passed the House of Parliament - started in 1544 and completed in 1618.  "Well boy, we put up a bigger one than that in Dallas and it only took a year!"  As they passed Westminster Abbey the cab driver was silent.  "Whoah! What's that over there?" asked the Texan.  The driver replied, "I don't know, it wasn't there yesterday."

“If climate change is causing the sea level to rise, does that mean that the oceans are getting too big for their beaches?”

Look at the bright side at least Mondays only happen once a week!

There's quite an art to falling apart as the years go by,  And life doesn't begin at 40. That's a big fat lie.  My hair's getting thinner, my body is not;  The few teeth I have are beginning to rot.
I smell of Vick's-Vapo-Rub, not Chanel #5;
My new pacemaker's all that keeps me alive.
When asked of my past, every detail I'll know, But what was I doing 10 minutes ago?Well, you get the idea, what more can I say?  I'm off to read the obit, like I do every day;  If my name's not there, I'll once again start  Perfecting the art of falling apart!

  3. Yes, it's a good thing when you do something stupid like going a little way without the recommended assistance....in my case, a walker, but it made me optimistic. Just don't get stupid. I tried not to, and if I did, I got away with it. BTW, don't slack off on making sure the innards are operating - tylenol 3 also can do the same kind of work as percocet. You probably know that already. Very glad things are going so well.
