Due to an inattentive brain matter lapse in my photo editing this morning, I lost my dozen or so photos. It wasn't much of a loss really. Just more in a series of gray and dull. I did manage a few front-yard bird photos though later this afternoon. But, just a few.

With my hip surgery less than a month away now, things are beginning to ramp up. I watched this 'What You Need To Know' forty-minute video today. I recommend it to anyone else out here who may have the same surgery coming up. Luckily, we already have crutches, a cane, and two walkers. We will be gathering up the other half dozen or so medical aids beginning this week. Some stuff we will get for free, some we will rent, and other stuff we will buy. Physio Therapy following the surgery is already lined up. We have a pre-surgery appointment at the Sarnia Hospital for the 31st of this month where a lot of instruction will be given in preparation for pre-surgery, surgery, and post-surgery. GROANER'S CORNER:(( I am trying to make friends outside of Facebook while applying the same principles therefore, every day I walk down the street and tell passers-by what I have eaten, how I feel at the moment, what I have done the night before, what I will do later and with whom. I give them pictures of my family, my dog, and of me gardening, taking things apart in the garage, watering the lawn, standing in front of landmarks, driving around town, having lunch, and doing what anybody and everybody does every day. I also listen to their conversations, give them the "thumbs up "and tell them I like them. And it works just like Facebook! I already have four people following me: Two police officers, a private investigator, and a psychiatrist.

The way Kelly and you are so organized in preparing for medical procedures
ReplyDeleteand everything you will need is really impressive. Nice photos! Mary
Sounds like you won't be caught by much surprise post surgery. Good. Meanwhile, I remember the song "since I feel for you" by people like Nina Simone, who started off with the "you made me leave my happy home....." A great song and lots of good versions.
ReplyDeleteThey get you home and mobile quickly now!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that lone blue bulb is throwing off any heat for the birdie?
ReplyDeleteHi AL. Hey, the Canadian Legion lends out, at no charge, a whole range of medical assistance products like walkers, wheelchairs etc. We went to the Grand Bend chapter and got a wheelchair for my mother in law. Might save you some bucks. Take care.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I am a day behind, what a wonderful post about George. He and that smile of his were one of a kind.
ReplyDeleteYou really do get some colorful birds visiting your yard. Great pictures.
I doubt the photos you lost were anything less than fantastic! It’s good to know you are well prepared and I’m guessing Kelly is part of the reason. I know a few folks that have hip replacement and they all say the same things, do the therapy and you will be rewarded.

Love your winter-round birds!! Our quail looking like large gray balls running around here :-)
ReplyDeleteWife went through the hip surgery back in 2012, she was 73 at the time and has had M.S. since she was in her early 40's. You will do fine Al, hope you can blog your experience within a few days of the event.
