MY HIP SURGERY DATE IS CONFIRMED

SUNRISE AT HICKIWAN TRAILS IN WHY, ARIZONA 2008
Had our phone not rang this afternoon I would not have had anything to write a post about tonight.  It was Dr. Garach's office in Sarnia Ontario calling with a confirmed date for my hip surgery.  February 13th is that day.  Before that, I will have to attend a pre-op information meeting in Sarnia but we don't have a date for that yet.  The lady we talked to today gave us a run-through of things and of course, the one I remember most is the 6-week temporary driver's license suspension following surgery.  For Pheebs and I that is sure going to mess up our morning Jeep rides all the way to March 27th.  I'm going to have to figure out a way to gently break that news to her sometime in early February.

Walter: She's getting old.
Jeff Dunham: Well, you know, they say that women age like fine wine.
Walter: She's aging like milk.

  1. Six weeks probably sounds like a really long time to go without driving,
however you will really enjoy. being far more pain free in the coming years if you follow the advice of the medical professionals
I imagine Pheebs loves being with you anywhere,it needn't be in the car,Mary

  5. Happy to hear things are going to be getting better soon. Six weeks is a short period when to think of how long you have already suffered, and not been able to do things. By spring you will be going to the pond to BRING the frogs back.

  6. So, so glad you finally have a date. According to friends who have had this same surgery, you will be amazed at how much better you will feel. And it's possible depending on how well you progress that it may not be six weeks before you can drive.

  7. I remember the first time I drove after hip surgery. I took extra care turning to get out of my seat and out of the car. Your Subaru will be the prefect height but your Jeep might be a little too high to get into at first. Yes, no pain after surgery, I was amazed.
