THE ALGOMA NIAGARA IN PORT THIS MORNING TAKING ON A LOAD OF SALT |
Despite the already hot morning Sun bearing down on us, Pheebs and I did make an attempt at our gravel road walk earlier today. Not wanting to turn into a sticky ball of paste so early in the day we were soon back in the Jeep and underway with our windows down. A stop for gas at Goderich's Solo gas bar and then a coffee to go at Mcdonalds'. Zipping down to the harbor and beach areas I noticed it was mostly Seniors who made up the majority of boardwalkers this morning. A quick stop at Walmart and we were soon on our way home. I didn't stray too far from the cool confines of our house for the rest of the day with the exception of vacuuming a lot of doggy fur out of the Subaru.

Decided this morning to start using the Subaru more than the Jeep for our morning rides. The Jeep still runs fine but I have a hard time picking up a clear Sirius XM radio signal much of the time. It's a mobile radio with a plug-in magnetic antenna on the roof and it has always been problematic. And especially so for an impatient character like myself. Subie's built-in XM radio is crystal clear and has no reception problems. With the wide-opening doors and slightly lower road clearance than the Jeep, it is easier for Pheebs to get in and out of the Subaru as well. Also, the 4-cylinder Sube is much better on gas than our 6-cylinder Jeep Liberty.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( This is an oldy but it is always a goody:: Veteran Pillsbury spokesman Pop N. Fresh died Wednesday of a severe yeast infection He was 71. He was buried Friday in one of the biggest funerals in years. Dozens of celebrities turned out including Mrs. Butterworth, the California Raisins, Hungry Jack, Betty Crocker, and the Hostess Twinkies The graveside was piled high with flours, as longtime friend Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy, describing Fresh as a man who "never knew he was kneaded". Fresh rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a smart cookie, and wasted much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Still, even as a crusty old man, he was a roll model to millions. Fresh is survived by his second wife. They had two children, and... one in the oven.

Two Hindu swamis were in conversation.
One said to the other, "How did you like my latest book, 'The Art of Levitation'?" His companion replied, "It kept me up all night."
Q: What do you call 13 bunnies in a row, hopping backwards?
A: A receding hairline!!!!!!

Good idea to save on gas that way, plus you may extend the life of the Jeep by letting it sit unused at times
ReplyDeleteIsn't it just great to see everyone out in their summery clothes doing summery things? We just love that. Great people pics. Love the pincushion joke, too, especially. Made me laugh out loud : -). Love your jokes.
