A FLOWERPOT ARRANGEMENT IN ONE OF OUR PARK'S ENTRANCEWAY FLOWER BEDS THIS MORNING |
This is my Sunday post......As readers may have noticed, we are still having problems with the blog. Kelly did get it up and running early Saturday afternoon but there was still a glitch with the blog's IP address, or something. Attempting to fix that Saturday night, the blog took another tumble and readers were once again getting error messages, etc. First thing this morning Kelly was at it yet again trying to figure out a solution. A number of fellow Bloggers have suggested switching from the troublesome older 'Blogger' platform to a different and newer up-to-date one called WordPress. My biggest fear is losing all my Archives and I've heard people have had a lot of trouble with that transfer stuff. But, after watching Kelly struggle for hours and hours these past couple of days with this Blogger problem I am now thinking I have 3 options. It's either to keep fighting with this aging Blogger, go through the aggravation of trying to set up a whole new blogging platform like WordPress, or just finally give up my blogging hobby and call it a day. After all, I've been doing this for 17 years now. With only one photo taken today I came across a few very old poor quality photos of the Bayfield Bunch before we even knew we would be known in the RV community as the Bayfield Bunch one day. A last minute update at 8 p.m. Kelly thinks she has finally tracked down the problem. If so, I will explain tomorrow what it was. You can catch-up my Thursday, Friday, and Saturday posts by scrolling to the bottom this post and look for the words Older Posts and click on that. I am cautiously optimistic 'we might be' okay now.......

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the motor of a Harley motorcycle when he spotted a well-known heart surgeon in his shop. The surgeon was there, waiting for the service manager to come and take a look at his bike. The mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey, Doc, can I ask you a question?" The surgeon a bit surprised, walked over to the mechanic working on the motorcycle. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, "So Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take valves out, fix 'em, put 'em back in, and when I finish, it works just like new. So how come I get such a small salary and you get the really big bucks, when you and I are doing basically the same work?" The surgeon paused, smiled and leaned over, and whispered to the mechanic..."Try doing it with the engine running."----------------------------------
Joe said, "Know what, Charlie? I killed 5 flies yesterday, 3 males and 2 females." "How could you tell them apart, Joe? asked Charlie. "Joe replied, "It was easy. The 3 males were sitting on a case of beer, and the 2 females were on the phone."

Post came up! Good luck for tomorrow and on 😁😁
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see you're back on here!!! Missed y'all,-Mary
ReplyDeleteBelive me, you think blogger causes you to almost step off the cliff at times ... Wordpress will "Throw you over and won't look back". I am pretty computer literate, I know enough to be dangerous as I like to say. A few years ago I did transfer my whole blogger blog to Wordpress. Due to the difference in platforms the programmer at Wordpress would have had to reconstruct code for every line in every post .... so, I started a brand new blog from that day forward.
ReplyDeleteWhen I decided to come back to blogger ... the written words would transfer but since the photos were in a blogger file I had to reload every photo manually. Took days and nights to do that.
It is so much more confusing just to do a normal post over there, although their templates are beautiful. Now I just remembered you have your own domain name and that even makes working with Wordpress harder unless you have a pretty good handle on being a computer geek. Hopefully this blog straightens out and flies right for you.
(Kawartha Gal) So glad to see your blog back. The weird msg I was getting had me thinking something was wrong on my end…anyway, evenings are not complete without reading your blog…..love the photos of your younger selves.
ReplyDeleteOMygosh! I am so glad you are back! I've been following you and Kelly for years, don't comment much but your blog is as important to me as my morning coffee. I love the photos in this blog from years ago. To see a young Motormouse!!! I loved Cora so much! *Of course I love all the dogs, but Motormouse resonated with me). Okay, to time-stamp when I started following your blog, when I joined your blog family, you told me my 'member number' was the same number as your bus route when you used to drive routes. (for the airport? Or nursing home? I don't remember). I had a blue glittery dog paw for an icon. Well this is probably around 2011 or so. Anyway, glad you are back. Hope all is very well with you, Kelly, and The Pheebs. Jools from N. Texas
ReplyDeleteHallelujah! A Sunday night miracle. It's real happiness to have the most important part of my evenings restored. A million thanks to Kelly. Fun seeing those photos from years ago. I sure hope all goes right from now on. I mean, 11 1/2 MILLION views should be worth something to the blog gods. Would be a huge loss if the archives, etc. disappeared in a shuffle to a new format. I really appreciate the fact that you went ahead and wrote the posts, so we didn't lose those days. The time the two of you spend on this blog is such a treasured gift to so many. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention in my too long of a comment ... I loved the older photos of you and Kelly and all of your great dogs. Classic dog pics. I was not following your blog at those times.
ReplyDeleteHa! The message I got was that I should delete all my cookies.... disappointed when that did nothing but having me to log into everything again. Glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteYay, Kelly!!! Thanks for fixing my mornings. Yes Al, there are lots of us that our routines include some Bayfield Bunch. Kinda throws alot of us off. Much love and appreciation for you guys!!! Great photos, ALWAYS!

DeleteGot it, Al! Looking great. Love your Celestron…it reminds me of the 16” Douglas we had in Oregon.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see that you have been able to get your blog back up. It's strange how it seems to effect people's blogs at different times and different issues. Enjoyed your pictures of the past. My 3rd motorcycle was a 1980 Yamaha Virago 750. Hopefully you have no more issues.
ReplyDeleteNice old photos. I bet those bring back a lot of memories. I started following you when you came back from SW with Motormouse passing away on your trip back home.
ReplyDeleteGot this posting but it's still not showing up in my Blogger reading list--weird. I LOVE those old photos of you, Kelly and the pooches!!
ReplyDeleteGlad your back once again! Keep writing we look forward to your blog everyday!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see your back up and running, somehow the day just doesn’t seem complete without reading the Bayfield Bunch.
ReplyDeleteHappy that all is well once again in the Bayfield Bunch world. Let me just say how much your daily posts were missed. Huge hugs to Kelly it getting the blog back up and running.
ReplyDeleteBig thanks to Kelly!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're back - have missed you!
