DE-WINTERIZED THE RIG TODAY AND......'OH-OH'

FIDDLEHEADS, FERNS, OR JUST A COUPLE OF LITTLE GREEN MARTIANS CHATTING IT UP IN OUR FRONT YARD THIS AFTERNOON
Our nights are still remaining quite cool but our days are finally warming up nicely.  With a couple prescriptions to pick up at the Walmart Pharmacy, and after our sunny morning gravel road walk, Pheebs and I headed off to Goderich.  A coffee to go at McDonalds and down to the foggy harbor we went.  Fog is generally a sign of warmer weather and it was evident along the shoreline as warmer land air met the colder waters of Lake Huron.

After the prescriptions were picked and with a few groceries thrown in for good measure Pheebs and were on our way home by 11 a.m.  How nice to see all the farm fields greening up and all the trees bursting forth in their colorful Spring foliage.  Tulips are out all over the place too.  Spring is finally skipping right along.  Oh nuts, that means Winter is drawing closer every day:((

Home again I never even bothered coming in to turn the computer on and slide into my normal a.m. routine.  I've had it on my mind to de-winterize our Winnebago so with no further adieu, I got right at it.  Last year when I did this I was lucky that everything turned out okay with no problems.  Not so much this year.  The grey water valve is leaking which doesn't surprise me because it was always very stiff and difficult to open and close.  Simply from not being used enough I suspect.  I didn't detect any other leaks anywhere.  But, there is a serious problem with the rear awning bracket where it is attached to the rig.  The two screws are pulling out.  Not good!!

SCOOTER WON'T BE GOING FAR UNTIL I CAN SOMEHOW GET THIS FIXED
Pheebs and I headed off for an afternoon walk which took us around the pond and down to the far end of our Park on the forest roads.  I don't know who was startled more, the Mama Goose or Pheebs and I when we stumbled upon a Canada Goose sitting on a nest of eggs.  The nest is at the north end of the Park's pond where we've never seen Geese make nests before.  I hope the Racoons don't get the eggs like they usually do when the nests have been at the south end of the pond.

MAMA GOOSE LEFT THE NEST (CENTER) JUST AS PHEEBS AND I WERE GOING BY
THERE WERE A NUMBER OF PAINTED TURTLES OUT SUNNING THEMSELVES AT THE PARK'S POND THIS PLEASANTLY WARM AFTERNOON
I THINK THAT'S PAPA AND JUNIOR

THIS IS THE BEST SHOT I COULD GET OF WHAT I THINK IS A GREENBACK HERON AT THE PARK'S POND
THIS IS A LONG TELEPHOTO AND SLIGHTLY OUT-OF-FOCUS SHOT OF MAMA GOOSE BACK ON HER NEST AGAIN
I'M THINKING THIS MIGHT BE WILD STRAWBERRY
It actually looks like we are in for a nice spate of good weather over the next couple of weeks.  Most unusual for this year but we'll take all of it that comes our way.  Perfect temperatures for me are just about anywhere between 65F and 75F.  Anything on either side of those temps I find increasingly uncomfortable.

GROANER'S CORNER:))  There was once an aspiring veterinarian who put himself through veterinary school working nights as a taxidermist.  Upon graduation, he decided he could combine his two vocations to better serve the needs of his patients and their owners, while doubling his practice and, therefore, his income. He opened his own offices with a shingle on the door saying, "Dr. Jones, Veterinary Medicine and Taxidermy -- Either way, you get your pet back!"

- Today I saw a burglar breaking into his own house.  Guess he was working from home.

- What did the tree say to the new spring flower?I'm rooting for you.

- Why don't flowers like to ride bicycles?  Because they keep losing their petals!
