KELLY AND I IN THE SUBARU SET AN EAST BY SOUTHEAST COURSE THIS MORNING

YESIREEEE, I'VE GOT MYSELF A REAL PRETTY NAVIGATOR TODAY
It was 8:45 a.m. this morning under sunny skies when Kelly and I rolled out of our driveway in the Subaru and set a course East by Southeast for the small scenic town of St. Marys Ontario.  An hour later we arrived at Joe's Diner to meet our good friends Richard and Gayle for breakfast.  Always good to see them.  The breakfast was great and the conversation even better with a little surprise thrown in:))  We were back home by 12:30 with a very happy tail-wagging doggy excitedly waiting for us at the door.

HEADING INTO DOWNTOWN ST. MARYS
A QUICK SNAP OF ST. MARYS TOWN HALL....THEY CALL ST. MARYS 'STONETOWN' BECAUSE OF ITS STONE QUARRY ARCHITECTURE
With temps on the rise and slightly above the freezing mark, it was nice to see some melting going on along the south side of our house this afternoon.  With each passing day now the Sun gains strength as Earth's northern latitudes slowly rotate closer toward the equator.  And that of course will help me rotate to more pleasant thoughts of sunny warm days ahead:))

 GOLDFINCH

Fourteen years ago today we were in the border town of Douglas Arizona checking out the the Gadsden Hotel where Pancho Villa allegedly rode his horse into the lobby and up the marble staircase.  By the way, the only time America has ever been invaded was when Pancho Villa and his Mexican army stormed across the border in the dead of night and attacked Columbus New Mexico.  Columbus is another place we have been to a number of times and especially in our earlier RVing years.  The day after we were in Douglas we headed to Bisbee for an Underground Queen Mine Tour.  If you haven't seen my Bisbee Album before I really suggest you go have yourself a look.  Bisbee is just one of the greatest little places of ever.  Tombstone just north of Bisbee gets all the attention but it doesn't hold a candle to the wild west's stunning architectural beauty found in Bisbee's alpine Mule Mountains location.  We ended up spending a fair amount of time in Bisbee over the following years enjoying the town and all its colorful characters.  You will notice in my photo album that it's a photographer's paradise and you can see how much I enjoy taking 'candid' photos of people.  Oh, and if you are interested in seeing my blogs about Bisbee, just type the word Bisbee into our search box near the top of the right-hand column over there >>>>>>>>>>

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A police officer sees a man driving around with a pickup truck full of penguins. He pulls the guy over and says, "You can't drive around with penguins in this town! Take them to the zoo immediately."  The guy obliges and drives away.  The next day, the officer sees the same guy driving around with the truck full of penguins again. This time, though, all the penguins are wearing sunglasses.  The police officer pulls the guy over and says, "I thought I told you to take these penguins to the zoo yesterday?"  The guy replies, "I did, and today we're going to the beach."

  1. Bisbee is a great town. I use to hang out at the Bisbee Bicycle Brothel ... the official name of the bicycle shop. They have since moved due to the owner of the building wanted to make it another restaurant. Every trip there you would or could see something different. And yes, a photographer's dream. That colorful bloodhound you see in some of my indoor photos (one last week) was bought in Bisbee.

  2. Mike had lunch with a friend on Friday at the Gadsden. If it’s any consolation Al, this winter in AZ has been miserably cold! Janna
