MAYBE WE'RE JUST A WEE BIT WEATHERED OUT BY THESE EXTREMES

OUR FERNS ARE THE BIGGEST THEY HAVE EVER BEEN THIS YEAR AND YES, THAT IS A PATH GOING THROUGH THERE

With Kelly stretched out in her living room recliner reading and resting and me in my sunroom recliner doing the same, it was a quiet Sunday.  With overnight temperatures dropping to 45F and predictions of daytime highs Tuesday of 95F maybe we're just a wee bit weathered out by these extremes.  

 EACH YEAR AT THIS TIME THE PINE TREES DROP THESE LITTLE THINGS WE CALL 'RICE kRISPIES AND THIS YEAR THERE IS MORE OF THEM THAN WE HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE

 IN OUR FROG POND THOSE 'RICE KRISPIES' HAVE FORMED A HUGE ISLAND ON TOP OF THE WATER

 ONE OF OUR POND PLANTS HAS PRODUCED THS NICE FLOWER

Needing some milk, Pheebs and I stopped at Bayfield's Foodland this morning before heading southeast out into the countryside for a walk at another one of our favorite spots.  Following that it was home again.  Another nice sunny cool day for doing a few outside projects but for the second day in a row I couldn't seem to talk myself into doing any of them.  It somehow seems like a waste of perfectly good weather, but it is what it was.

But wait, I almost forgot.......Kelly did get some weeding done in our front flower bed this afternoon and I did take Pheebs for a walk:))

THIS GRACKLE HAS STOPPED BY FOR A BIG DRINK OF WATER

 THAT'S MAMA GRACKLE ON THE LEFT AND JUNIOR GRACKLE ON THE RIGHT

MAMA GRACKLE WAS PICKING UP SEEDS ON OUR FEEDER THEN FLYING TO THE GROUND AND FEEDING JUNIOR GRACKLE

Since adding four washers (for weight) to our squirrel-proof birdfeeder, Little Red has totally given up even trying to get into the feeder finally.  The black squirrels have never been able to get into the feeder even without the washers. 

 I'M GUESSING THIS LITTLE CHAP IS A DOWNIE WOODPECKER

Kelly heads up to Goderich's Maitland Valley Medical Center tomorrow morning for a 9 a.m. first meeting with a well recommended Nurse Practitioner.  This NP has been my nurse practitioner for a number of years now and I'm glad Kelly was finally able to get in with the well-organized and caring Maitland Valley Medical group.  This is a definite step up in her health care. **clarification: Kelly has an excellent hepatologist gastroenterologist. He is the head of the Transplant Unit at University Hospital.  Her regular MD here in town moved away which caused some isues in  continuity of care.
