HOW'S THAT FOR SOME GOOD OLD SHAKEY OPTIMISM EH

SOMETIMES I AM THE OBSERVER AND SOMETIMES I AM THE OBSERVED
Let me just say right off the top that Kelly had a good night with no pain or nausea and her day went well.  I think part of the problem with London's emergency department is that they are simply overwhelmed.  London is a fair size city and Kelly said there were a lot of people in the emergency department.  A 5 or 6-hour waiting time is not unusual anymore.  Kelly also noticed the large security presence in the ER as well.  Unfortunately, it is a sign of our rapidly changing times and society's growing setbacks.  Whatever happened to the good old 50's.  Yes, I know people had their problems back in those years too, but not on the scale of today's social decay, rapidly growing dissent, and mental madness.

Our temperature this morning had already reached 70F by 7 a.m. so I knew it was going to be a hot and uncomfortable sticky day.  Our online weather site had issued another 'heat warning'.  Pheebs and I slipped out to our walking spot under clear sunny skies enhanced by a pleasingly warm northwesterly breeze.  Following that, we went straight home to our comfortable air-conditioned house......and stayed there.

FARMERS ARE STILL BUSY IN THEIR FIELDS
CORN STALKS ARE ABOUT 3' HIGH NOW
Now that we are past the summer solstice already, have you noticed the days getting shorter?  Don't be discouraged because in only six short months from now the days will begin to lengthen again.  Now how's that for some good old shakey optimism eh:))

Just finished reading the book, Spirits in the Bonfire by Tessa Romero.  I found this book interesting and uplifting.  It is books like this that cause this sometimes stubborn realist mind of mine to flex beyond itself to consider, contemplate, and accept broader plains of thinking.  This book connects in so many ways to a host of other books I have been reading this past year and a half.  So much to learn and so little time left to learn it but with each book read, more pieces of the grand puzzle fit comfortably into place.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A Scout Master was teaching his boy scouts about survival in the desert.  "What are the three most important things you should bring with you in case you get lost in the desert?" he asked. Several hands went up, and many important things were suggested such as food, matches, etc.  Then one little boy in the back eagerly raised his hand. "Yes Timmy, what are the three most important things you would bring with you?" asked the Scout Master.  Timmy replied: "A compass, a canteen of water, and a deck of cards."  "Why's that Timmy?"  "Well," answered Timmy, "the compass is to find the right direction, the water is to prevent dehydration..."  "And what about the deck of cards?" asked the Scout Master impatiently.  "Well, Sir, as soon as you start playing Solitaire, someone is bound to come up behind you and say, "Put that red nine on top of that black ten!"

  4. Regarding Kelly's ER experience, I too had to go to the ER a few months ago here in Southern California. The waiting area was packed. Later when speaking to a nurse, I mentioned this and she said that so many people cannot get in to see their doctor and are using the ER instead of even trying to see their doctor. Hoping that Kelly has another good night.
