A cold drizzly rain this morning but that was okay because the ice and snow are continuing to melt. Slippery walking for Kelly and Pheebs though with puddles of water on top of the road ice. Pheebs and I slipped into the sleepy little village of Bayfield for a short look around. Driving along the quiet main street I thought to myself, in only a few weeks this picturesque little lakeside town will soon begin to stir as it slowly emerges from winter's long hibernation. We are very fortunate to live here where we do on the outskirts of the little village of Bayfield. LOOKS LIKE A TIPSY EARLYBIRD SAILBOATER MAY BE HERE DOING A LITTLE WORK ON HIS BOAT
SO WHY ARE THESE MOUNDS OF ICE AND SNOW TURNING FROM WHITE TO BROWN?? ICE AND SNOW MELT AND SAND DOESN'T
LOOKS LIKE A LOCAL FARMER HAS BEEN BUSY TAKING SOMETHING OUT OF HIS MUDDY FIELD
How nice this morning to be driving along slowly with our front windows partially down and hearing the heartening sounds of early songbirds in the trees. The only bird song I know well is the Robins and I saw a number of them at a distance on a lawn grubbing for worms. The only returning Spring birds I've seen at our feeder so far are Crackles.
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A wife orders her husband to go to her mother-in-law's house to pick her up for her a doctor's appointment. The husband drove to the mother-in-law's house and saw her busy chattering with the neighbor's young wife. He walked over and reminded her of the doctor's appointment and asked her to come along with him. The mother-in-law would not give up blabbering to the neighbor so after a couple reminders from the husband he came and took her by the arm and proceeded to lead her towards the car saying, "Sorry mom you can't miss your health appointment, I had to do it." The mother-in-law defended, "You know that woman, she simply would not stop listening to me!!" WITH ICE AND SNOW ALL THE WAY OUT TO THE HORIZON IT WILL BE AWHILE BEFORE SWIMMERS AND SAILBOATS WILL BE PLYING THESE WATERS ALONG BAYFIELD'S SHORELINE

The old folks' home was very secure. Each door was guarded by a century.
