MALE CARDINAL |
Waking up to blowing snow this morning it was not easy for me to drum up any enthusiasm to head out the door. However, head out the door Pheebs and I did but it wasn't for very long. We slipped into and around Bayfield and were back home within half an hour. Definitely not my idea of a nice outside day.

RECENT FREEZING COLD WEATHER HAS INCREASED THE ICE PACK AND LAKE WATER ON THE HORIZON IS NO LONGER VISIBLE FROM BAYFIELD'S BEACH AGAIN |

BAYFIELD RIVER ICE IS SMOOTH ENOUGH TO SKATE ON |
It was quite a cluster fluster of birds in our front yard today and I was busy keeping birdfeeders topped up as cold winds blew the falling snow around. Try as I did I could not even convince myself to head outside and fire up my snow shovel.

I made sure to turn clocks ahead before going to bed Saturday night and even remembered to turn the Jeeps clock ahead this morning as well. Turning clocks ahead one hour is just one of many early signs of Spring each year in Ontario Canada. It was pretty darn nice having an extra hour of daylight at the end of today. And that daylight will continue to lengthen each day right up to June 21rst. Let the good times roll:)))))

'ALRIGHT CLASS NOW LISTEN UP' |
Our predicted warmer weather is sure taking its own sweet time getting here. I was expecting our turn-around to begin today but our Sunday turned out to be a repeat of our snowy cold Saturday. Supposed to be 41F Monday so we'll see what happens.
Pheebs and I piled into the Jeep about mid-afternoon when we got a call about a missing dog either in or near our Park. Driving around slowly we covered all the roads in our Park including the newer roads farther back in the bush but with no luck. Good thing for 4-wheel drive though. We heard later the dog was found and returned to the owner.

PHEEBS AND I DRIVING AROUND THIS AFTERNOON LOOKING FOR THE LITTLE LOST DOG |
We're off to London's University hospital Monday where Kelly will be having a couple procedures done. Pheebs and I will take ourselves for a little country road drive northwest of London before returning to the Masonville Mall parking lot and waiting for Kelly to call and say she is ready to be picked up. The weather should be okay and the roads bare and dry. I like it when I have somewhere to go and something to do:))
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Johnny, where's your homework?" Miss Martin said sternly to the little boy while holding out her hand. "My dog ate it," was his solemn response. "Johnny, I've been a teacher for eighteen years. Do you really expect me to believe that?" "It's true, Miss Martin, I swear," insisted Johnny. "I had to force him, but he ate it!---------------------------------
The male cardinals are attractive, but I think the females are prettier. We have lots of female rose breasted grosbeaks at our feeders but no sign of the males. Go figure
ReplyDeleteAl we just love reading your blog and looking at all your photos but don't you think that all that bird seed is fattening up those birds? Have a great day and spring is on its way! Rick & Kathy Rousseau. It's about time!
