YES I MIGHT HAVE DONE THAT ALRIGHT

 A BAYFIELD LAKESIDE COTTAGE
Sunshine this morning, what more can I say.  Took myself for a drive into and around Bayfield.  I think the temperature was hanging around 10F this morning.  Surprisingly enough, Scooter started right up when I tried it later.  The problem doesn't seem to be in it starting as much as it is in me forgetting to turn it off later once it's running.  Years ago I once let our first Class A motorhome run for nearly 5 hours when I toodled off on my motorcycle.  This morning it was about half an hour when Kelly reminded me the rig was still running.  Had she not done that I would probably have looked out about 6 o'clock tonight and seeing lights shining I would have thought it was morning and the Sun was coming up.  Yes, I might have done that alright:((

IT'S DEFINITELY NOT A GOOD IDEA TO BE WALKING OUT THERE!!
With the exception of climbing into the Jeep, Pheebs is doing fine.  She's as exuberant and happy as ever.  Nothing wrong with her vision because she can still spot and chase squirrels with no problem.  She doesn't hear as well but she's not deaf.  We see no signs of stiff or hurting joints but we have put her on Glycoflex Plus because of her age.  She shows no signs of being in any kind of pain.  She does not like to be picked up and if I try she squats flat on the ground.  She's about 55 pounds and that is too heavy to be picked up without hurting her.  We'll be glad when Covid restrictions are removed because right now at our Vet Clinic we are not allowed inside.  If someone brings in their pet they have to stay out in the parking lot while a staff member comes out and takes their pet inside for an examination.  Then, the pet is returned and a phone call follows with the results of the exam.  Neither Kelly or I are in favor of this.  Thanks to readers for your concern and informative advice regarding our dearest Pheebs.  We take all suggestions to heart.

OH THE JOYS OF LIVING IN THESE NORTHERN LATITUDES AT THIS TIME OF YEAR
I don't know if anyone is interested, knows, or even cares about the James Webb telescope launched into space by the United States back on Christmas day but if you are interested here is a 'live sight' link to exactly where that telescope is at the moment and where it is going.  Thanks to reader Barb way out there in that British Columbia place for bringing this site to my attention.  It's on my desktop now.  Webb Space Telescope.  And if there is anyone interested in Astronomy, here is another link Barb sent.....Every Visible Star in the Night Sky, in One Map.  This map is in High Resolution.  Looking at it, many of the stars and constellation names are familiar to me.

IT FELT SO COLD TODAY EVEN SOME OF THE BUILDINGS TURNED BLUE
SEEN IN OUR PARK THIS MORNING
Finished my latest book called The Three Waves of Volunteers and the New Earth.  This was a tough book for me to get through but get through it I did.  Today I began Legacy From The Stars.  I like things that take my mind outside the box because in this case, it is leading to many 'light bulb moments' for me.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A little boy went to the store with his grandmother and on the way home, he was looking at the things she had purchased. He found a package of panty hose and began to sound out the words "QUEEN SIZE".  He then turned to his grandmother and exclaimed, "Look Granny, YOU wear the same size as our bed sheets!"

A genie granted me one wish, so I said, "I just want to be happy."  Now I'm living in a cottage with 6 dwarves and working in a mine.

  1. You got some nice sunshine down your way today. Am I seeing some ice way out in Lake Huron? And is that a real lighthouse made into a residence, or a house with a decorative lighthouse added?

  2. Yes, there are frozen patches of ice out on the lake drifting about. I'm not a hundred percent sure but I think that might be a house built to look like a lighthouse. If I find out any different I will let you know:))

  4. That lighthouse is very interesting. Is it overlooking the water? Or all for show?

    1. It is both fairly close to the shoreline and the villages downtown as well. Maybe 10 school buses end to end to the lake. I'm not sure if it is an old refurbished lighthouse or not. Quite possible it could be considering it's location.

  5. Now that's the Bayfield "cold" scenes I remember from your previous years' blogs. Brrr and just love the snowy scenes. Brrrrr

  6. Here’s another one, Al: https://www.heavens-above.com/

Once you get your coordinates put in, it gives you a lot of cool options. Live Sky View is interesting, as it acts like a live sky chart, complete with satellites zipping across. The Starlink Dynamic 3D Orbit display is kind of scary to look at.

  7. We didn't like the idea of the vet taking Emmi without us either at first. Now we don't mind as it seems she doesn't get as frantic if we aren't in the room. One vet tech told us it seems to make the pets calmer and it also makes us not be the bad guys--the vet people can be the bad guys.

  9. Since Rocky doesn't balk at all at going into the exam room without me, I'm fine with it. I trust the vet, the dog is always happy, and I'm not sure if it is a precaution for the spread of Covid, but I'm not going to complain about it.
