I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED THIS SIMPLE LITTLE STONE HOUSE NEAR GODERICH |
Kelly had noticed on her Facebook page this morning that a dog was lost slightly northeast of Bayfield so on our way to Goderich. Pheebsand I and cruised through the Whys Line and Cut Line Road area in the hopes of maybe spotting the dog but we didn't have any luck.
TURNING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY ONTO A SNOWY ROAD |
With a lite snowfall coming down and slippery roads, we continued on in 4-wheel drive. The snow had begun late Saturday evening so it was beginning to build up a bit. Managed a few photos along the way.

Reaching Goderich it was our usual routine run through McDonalds for a coffee to go then down around the harbor. One large ship at the grain elevators loading up either, beans, wheat, or corn.

A PIT STOP ALONG THE WAY |
A couple weeks ago Pheebs and I came across a corn dump alongside the road and stopped and scooped up a bucket full. The only problem was that the corn was wet from rain the night before and wet corn can quickly turn moldy. Not wanting to mix wet corn in with my birdseed I had to figure out a way to dry it. Below is a photo of my corn drying operation.

Most of my afternoon was spent reading again and I am finding The Pentyrich Incident by Caz Clarke and Gari Jones quite interesting. It takes place in Whales back in 2016. If people are to be believed then this is truly amazing.
THESE SUMMER CHAIRS WERE SITTING IN THE YARD OF THAT SIMPLE LITTLE STONE HOUSE I LIKE |
I will have to read that book, thanks Al. I enjoyed the realtor cartoon and those very wooly sheep. Nice to see the snow, however I enjoy my sandals, shorts and colored T shirt weather here in Florida. If I was still blogging, I would have made two posts on the 6 hours at Verizon after my phone died. My BP before was 118/55 and after was 143/90, they must be trained to drive people crazy.
ReplyDeleteI spent almost an hour on hold with Verizon the other day to get my 6-digit transferred code to another service. Once he asked what I wanted, he hung up on me. I got the code the easy way and transferred to Spectrum Mobile for $14 per month. A few years ago I had to go the Verizon store because their new SIM was not working. You would have thought I was bothering the whole staff just as I opened the door. So I agree, "they must be trained to drive people crazy."
DeleteThe water photos are very telling, that cold bone chilling gray definitely says winter is near. We too had some snow yesterday off and on most of the day, didn’t amount to much here either. So sad to see those beautiful Adirondack chairs out there braving the weather, they are always ‘summer’ in my mind and meant to be on front porches, lush lawns, or nestled under a nice shade tree. My fav photo today is the shaggy little pony covered in snow. Thanks for brightening the day Al.
ReplyDeleteGreat FJ photo Al. I have owned a lot of them and have one now but have never had the urge to buy the Yellow. It does look good though with the black wheels and that red Tim Horton's sign in the background. Your snow photos are making me cold but I am told it doesn't snow much at my new location since I am further south in the state. We will find out I guess.
ReplyDeleteHi tech! And a fitting song!
ReplyDeleteAl, I just wanted you to know, that everyday I look forward to you blog. I know you may feel sometimes that your life is rather mundane and don't feel like posting. It's only mundane to you. I sit here in beautiful warm sunny Florida on the gulf, but I would probably have liked to drive around with you and see the things you photograph for myself. We are full time RV people making a circle around the USA every year.
ReplyDeleteYour blog brings me about as much enjoyment as most things. When you are feeling melancholy about the weather or life, just go back and read a blog similar to today's and recapture the beauty you provide to others.
Thanks for the encouraging comment Dave. I didn't see it until today December23rd.
