TODAY WE TRACKED DOWN A FOOT-LONG HOT DOG WITH THE WORKS

 PURPLE LOOSESTRIFE
After publishing Monday night's post Pheebs and I were back into the Jeep again and headed out to our rural walking spot.  Because of the morning's heat, we had skipped our walk earlier in the day but with the evening's cooler temps and cloud cover we made up for it.

 LITTLE CHIEF SILLY BEANS
A FARMER OUT BURNING SOME EVENING OIL
NOT ALL FARMERS DRIVE BIG MACHINES....AND SOME EVEN WEAR SHORTS
SO NICE WALKING OUT HERE WHERE THERE ARE NO BUGS
 SUN'S GOING DOWN
A MEETING OF THE GREAT FIRE GODS IN THE SKY
It was the sound of rain on our roof that started my day at 6:15 this morning.  Time to get up anyway.  Wished I could sleep in longer but it never seems to happen.  Besides, the sooner I wake up, the happier the Pheebs is.
 SHE'S JUST WAKING UP
 HEY, ANOTHER DAY:))
A GREAT WAY TO START THE DAY IS TO GET A BIG STRETCH UNDERWAY
WITH A FEW SQUIGGLES THROWN IN
Under cloudy skies and thankfully a nice cooling breeze from the south we did a few country roads south of Bayfield before returning home.

STARTING THE DAY OFF RIGHT ON BAYFIELD'S BEACH THIS MORNING
CLOUDY MORNING SKIES OVER A BEAN FIELD
The heat and humidity seemed to intensify around 2 this afternoon so as soon as we had wolfed down our hot dog we headed straight-away home again and cranked the A/C up a notch.
We have lots to eat here in the house but needing an early afternoon break and feeling the need for something different to eat besides peanut butter, Pheebs and I decided to go see if we could track ourselves down a foot-long hot dog with the works.  Well, there was only one place here in Bayfield for that so we headed ourselves on over to the Woodland Drive-In.

GROANER'S CORNER:((     Ralph and Edna were both patients in a mental hospital.  One day while they were walking past the hospital swimming pool, Ralph suddenly jumped into the deep end. He sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there. Edna promptly jumped in to save him. She swam to the bottom and pulled Ralph out.  When the Head Nurse became aware of Edna's heroic act she immediately ordered her to be discharged from the hospital, as she now considered her to be mentally stable.  When she went to tell Edna the news she said, "Edna, I have good news and bad news. The good news is you're being discharged; since you were able to rationally respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of another patient, I have concluded that your act displays sound-mindedness. The bad news is, Ralph, the patient you saved, hung himself with his bathrobe belt in the bathroom. I am so sorry, but he's dead."  Edna replied "He didn't hang himself. I put him there to dry. How soon can I go home?"

  1. Well, you can't eat peanut butter all the time I guess, and we enjoyed going out for hot dogs back in Guelph.
