FLUTTERBYS AND A FLAGONDRY

Under clear blue sunny skies, it was all three of us in the Jeep this morning heading for  Exeter Ontario's Canadian Tire Store.  Needed a new battery for our 10-year-old weed whacker and we're finding 18V batteries harder to get now since those batteries were discontinued a few years ago.  We thought the CTC store in Exeter had one but they didn't.  It wasn't a wasted drive to Goderich though because we snagged a take-out breakfast from A&W.  And besides, it was a nice Saturday morning for a drive for all 3 of us together for a change.

Home again and energized by cooler air I  hauled out our mower and cut all the grass.  It was 47F when we got up this morning.  I think we topped out at 66F today.  Bonus.  Following that, Pheebs and I took Scooter for a 'Whoop-T-Toot' around half a dozen big country blocks.  It gave the engine a whirl, the tires a turn, and the batteries a boost.  And it always gives me a boost too.

Despite tussling with a late morning cloud cover Old Sol finally won the day and we had ourselves a marvelously sunny cool day.  Although about 90% of our beloved Pine Tree Trail is gone forever now Pheebs and I did slip out for a walk around the Park's pond looking for a few photos.  And we found some.

 I HAD TO VERY PATIENTLY FOLLOW THIS LITTLE FELLOW AROUND FOR EACH QUICK SHOT

It was one year ago on July 11th that we brought our little 24' Class C Winnebago Itasca Sprint home.  We picked it up south of Woodstock Ontario that day and started for home with Kelly leading the way in the Jeep.  Twenty minutes later we were into Woodstock's Friday afternoon traffic and had totally lost sight of each other.   I had no idea where Kelly was and she had no idea where I was either.  You can read HERE how two separated out of contact minds without smartphones logically reasoned out what to do next.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  Three gentlemen are golfing one sunny day. They come to a difficult par with a water trap just after the tee. The first golfer proceeds to hit his ball right into the water. To retrieve it, he simply approaches the body of water and extends his golf club. The water parts, he takes his next shot and it lands on the green. The second golfer hits his ball towards the water, but rather than sink, the ball floats on top of the water. The golfer nonchalantly walks across the water and hits the ball onto the green.  The third golfer hits his ball directly into the water, where it quickly starts to sink. As the ball sinks, a fish grabs the ball in its mouth. At that very moment, a hawk plucks the fish out of the water and begins to carry it aloft. As the bird soars higher, a bolt of lightning startles the bird, which then drops the fish into a nearby tree. When the fish hits a branch of the tree, the ball pops out, rolls down the trunk of the tree, across the green, and right into the hole...Moses turns to Jesus and says "You know, I hate golfing with your Father."
