PHEEBS WAITS PATIENTLY WHILE I TAKE A FEW PHOTOS AT THE PARK'S POND THIS AFTERNOON |
It was a short Jeep ride into and around Bayfield this morning before heading on over to Richard, Gayle, and Bubba's house. Pheebs hadn't seen her best Pal Bubba for a bit so she was pretty excited as we rolled up the long bush lane. And it had been a while since Richard and I had tipped a couple coffees back. Circumstances have changed a bit so instead of our usual bi-monthly countryside driving chats every second Thursday Pheebs and I have been dropping in for coffee at Bubba's house where Pheebs and Bubba can race around and play outside. Weather and mosquitos permitting of course.

STILL WAITING |
Richard and I over our long years of friendship have talked of many things and today was no exception. In fact, we put about four and a half hours into this one. We have aged together through the years and continue to tackle the realities of life every time we get together. And we always seem to get right to the core of things. For years we never talked much about medical issues and concerns because they were never an active or integral part of our lives. But now here we are, dealing right up front with the very things we once had no interest in or need to talk about. It's quite a thing this aging process, and the learning never stops. And oh my, how chosen priorities can so suddenly change..........

AN UPSIDE-DOWN GRASSHOPPER CLINGS TO A REED NEAR THE POND'S EDGE |
With only a couple photos this morning Pheebs and I headed off over to the Park's pond this afternoon to see what we could find in the way of flying insects and bugs. Ponds at this time of year are always good places to look for those sorts of things and with the humidity backed off I was finally able to feel comfortable enough outside to do something.

'OH-OH' I THINK SOMEBODY IS GETTING A LITTLE SLEEPY |
GROANER'S CORNER:(( The American tourist stood staring at the highland sentry standing guard outside Edinburgh Castle. After a few minutes she went up to the sentry and asked 'I've always wanted to find out what's worn under the kilt'. The sentry replied: 'There is nothing worn, Ma'am, it's all in perfect working order'.---------------------------
My wife left me because I’m insecure...No wait, she’s back, she just went to get coffee.

As always, great photos. Glad to hear you had a good long visit with an old friend. Yes, the topics change over the years, but the exchanging of tales about our lives doesn't. And it's good to have that happen.
ReplyDeleteAnd oh my, how chosen priorities can so suddenly change.......can definitely relate Al; and oh what a beautiful collection of photos...must have spent hours waiting for the insects to appear at just the right moments...
ReplyDeleteAka: Moonfly13 (my google/blogger all messed up - somehow lost my name & other stuff but still have my Favorite photo of Little red-haired girl running with Phebes at Pioneer Park)😊...Anyway, Love the 3 photos of Phebes titled " waiting patiently, still waiting, & getting sleepy". Cute - you always make my morning coffee sweeter & my day brighter. Thanks, Al. 🐦🌵💐
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to hear from you Moonfly13 Cactus Flower and thanks for hanging in here all these years:))
DeleteWonderful bug photos tonight! Don't know how you do it. Funny how we once laughed at old folk talking about their health, and now we become one of them.
