With a 66F start to our day I knew it was probably going to be a hot one and hot days don't work well for me anymore. (of course we all knew that right) Pheebs and I headed for Goderich while it was still reasonably cool, grabbed a McDonalds coffee, and slipped down around the harbor. Two large ships in port, the Algoma Sault loading salt and the Federal Caribou loading grain. THIS 'DRIVE-BY' PHOTO SHOWS A FARMER CUTTING TALL GRASS AROUND THE ENTRANCE TO HIS LONG FARM LANE

PEOPLE WERE OUT WALKING THE NEW BOARDWALK THIS MORNING OLD FRIENDS MEETING IN A PARKING LOT FOR A CHAT THERE'S A COUPLE OF BIKERS HAVING A PICNIC OVER THERE WELL AT LEAST THE DOGGIE DOESN'T SMOKE
Despite the heat, I did mow some grass in our back yard and that was about it. With the exception of taking our air-conditioned Winnebago (Scooter) for a drive over to Holmesville and back we never ventured out of the house for the rest of the afternoon. LOOKS LIKE A MORNING BREAKFAST BBQ

LOTS OF PEOPLE ON GRAND BEND'S PIER LOOKING NORTH ALONG LAKE HURON'S SHORELINE AND TO THINK IT WAS ONLY A FEW MONTHS AGO THERE WAS ICE OUT THERE ON THE LAKE FOR AS FAR AS ONE COULD SEE
Supper tonight was a big bowl of oatmeal. Now, every time I say oatmeal I am meaning an extra special delicious brand of oatmeal called, Stoked Oats. More precisely, it is the 'Bucking-Eh' Oats I really like. The Mountain Maple Oats look good too but I've never seen them on the shelf here. And speaking of supper, I had quite a surprise Friday night when our good neighbor Monica came to the door and handed me a big bag with an already heated-up supper of spare ribs, potatoes, and mixed cooked vegetables inside. (all in containers of course) Well needless to say I wasn't long in getting my face right into that supper:)) LOOKING SOUTH ALONG THE BEACH

A cop breaks up a fight by two invisible men. As the crowd gathers, he shouts, "Move along, folks. There's nothing to see here!"

So Moses is up on Mount Sinai and he says to God, "God, do I ever have a pounding headache!" And God says, "Here, take these two tablets."

Hot weather does me no good either! Can't believe those Grand Bend crowds! Give Kelly a great big welcome!
ReplyDeleteI'm certain that Pheebs won't be the only one excited to see Kelly.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy the AC.
It's about time.
It'll be nice to have Kelly back home! Fran spent 3 weeks with her Ohio family - I did make the bed and sweep the floor for her return, but made sure to leave the toilet seats up. I wanted her to feel missed :)
ReplyDeleteSafe travels for Kelly as she comes home to you and Miss Pheebs.
ReplyDeleteWow Al, you sure do a lot to impress Kelly. I am sure she will be thrilled to come home to a clean home. There are more people on that beach than we saw on Cocoa Beach Florida when we were there. I have never seen that model of John Deere, that is a fine tractor he has. That Groaner nearly killed me.
ReplyDeleteHappy Reunion Day! Welcome home Kelly.
