YES, YES, YES, I HAVE ALL THE DISHES DONE

THIS 'DRIVE-BY' PHOTO SHOWS A FARMER CUTTING TALL GRASS AROUND THE ENTRANCE TO HIS LONG FARM LANE
With a 66F start to our day I knew it was probably going to be a hot one and hot days don't work well for me anymore.  (of course we all knew that right) Pheebs and I headed for Goderich while it was still reasonably cool, grabbed a McDonalds coffee, and slipped down around the harbor.  Two large ships in port,  the Algoma Sault loading salt and the Federal Caribou loading grain.

With Goderich beaches open now I noticed right away the uptake in vehicle traffic and people walking the boardwalk.  It was the weekend after all.  The beach wasn't crowded yet but I knew the city crowds were on their way.  We quickly beetled off to Walmart, picked up a few things, and made a bee-line for home.  And the first thing I did when we got into the house was to crank up the A/C full tilt.

LOOKS LIKE A MORNING BREAKFAST BBQ
Despite the heat, I did mow some grass in our back yard and that was about it.  With the exception of taking our air-conditioned Winnebago (Scooter) for a drive over to Holmesville and back we never ventured out of the house for the rest of the afternoon.

OUT FOR A SHORT AFTERNOON RIDE IN THE RV

NOPE, IT'S NOT IRELAND, IT'S JUST GOOD OLD SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO
LOOKS LIKE THIS FELLOW IS HAVING HIMSELF QUITE A NICE LAID BACK KIND OF DAY
Below are a few screen captures of Grand Bend's beach today courtesy of Grand Bends Yacht Club harbor and beach cams.

Supper tonight was a big bowl of oatmeal.  Now, every time I say oatmeal I am meaning an extra special delicious brand of oatmeal called, Stoked Oats.  More precisely, it is the 'Bucking-Eh' Oats I really like.  The Mountain Maple Oats look good too but I've never seen them on the shelf here.  And speaking of supper, I had quite a surprise Friday night when our good neighbor Monica came to the door and handed me a big bag with an already heated-up supper of spare ribs, potatoes, and mixed cooked vegetables inside. (all in containers of course)  Well needless to say I wasn't long in getting my face right into that supper:))

Well, in less than 24 hours, Kelly will be home.  I haven't told Pheebs yet or else she would be going totally bonkers.  It's been a long 6 weeks and yet it seemed to fly by.  Longest time Kelly and I have been apart since we met many Moons ago.  And yes, yes, yes, I have all the dishes done, floors vacuumed, mats shook out, stovetop cleaned, laundry caught up, socks washed, sinks scrubbed shiny, kitchen floor swept, toaster and tea kettle cleaned, shower stall and toilet are sparkling, combed my hair, doggies couch blanket washed, a 'little bit' of dusting done, micro-wave cleaned, and oh boy it just goes on and on eh guys:))

AND HERE IT IS INSIDE ONE OF THE FLOWERS

GROANER'S CORNER:(( An elderly man lay dying in his bed. In death's agony, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite chocolate chip cookies wafting up the stairs. He gathered his remaining strength and lifted himself from the bed. Leaning against the wall, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort forced himself down the stairs, gripping the railing with both hands, he crawled down the stairs.  With labored breath, he leaned against the door-frame, gazing into the kitchen. Were it not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven: there, spread out upon waxed paper on the kitchen table were literally hundreds of his favorite chocolate chip cookies. Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of heroic love from his devoted wife, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man?  Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself toward the table, landing on his knees in a rumpled posture. His parched lips parted: the wondrous taste of the cookie was already in his mouth, seemingly bringing him back to life.  The aged and withered hand trembled on its way to a cookie at the edge of the table when it was suddenly smacked with a spatula by his wife.  "Stay out of those," she said, "they're for the funeral."

-----------------------

A cop breaks up a fight by two invisible men.  As the crowd gathers, he shouts, "Move along, folks. There's nothing to see here!"

-----------------------

So Moses is up on Mount Sinai and he says to God, "God, do I ever have a pounding headache!"  And God says, "Here, take these two tablets."

  3. It'll be nice to have Kelly back home! Fran spent 3 weeks with her Ohio family - I did make the bed and sweep the floor for her return, but made sure to leave the toilet seats up. I wanted her to feel missed :)

  5. Wow Al, you sure do a lot to impress Kelly. I am sure she will be thrilled to come home to a clean home. There are more people on that beach than we saw on Cocoa Beach Florida when we were there. I have never seen that model of John Deere, that is a fine tractor he has. That Groaner nearly killed me.
