IT WAS A 'TWO SOAKERS' WALK THIS MORNING

SPOTTED THIS FELLOW RESTING IN A TREE THIS MORNING
Pheebs and I were out and about not just once, but twice Saturday night.  Having published my post for the day, we didn't feel like sitting around so it was into the Jeep and off we went for a drive around Bayfield.  It was 8:30 and had I thought of it sooner we could have caught a nice sunset.  Oh well, I did take a few photos in late evening from around town anyway.  We were back home in about half an hour, then around 10 o'clock, we were in the Jeep and on the road again, this time headed for our starry night spot despite a partial cloud cover.  Through a break in the clouds, I was able to get a shot of the crescent Moon which is the last photo on this post.

Sunday morning dawned with a cloud cover but we were out the door by 8:30 anyway.  With a homemade coffee to go we headed southeast of Bayfield to a dead-end road running along the east side of Kerr's Campground.  Parked the Jeep and off we went for a walk.

I noticed a landowner bordering Kerr's Campground had recently dozed a rough road through the bush alongside one of his fields.  Always the curious ones Pheebs and I followed that winding bush road for maybe a quarter mile before it ended at a tin shack.

THERE MAY ONCE HAVE BEEN SOME LATE-NIGHT POKER GAMES GOING ON HERE
WE COULD HAVE WALKED BACK TO THE JEEP ALONG THE EDGE OF THIS NEWLY PLANTED FIELD BUT OF COURSE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO EASY EH
I noticed what appeared to be a shorter straighter road through the bush leading back in the direction we came so decided to follow it.  Well, it wasn't long before I saw why the farmer was putting in a newer road.  Ahead was a mud bog but I figured maybe if I was careful I could get around the edge of it without getting my feet wet.  I figured wrong and promptly ended up with two muddy soakers!!  It was a squishy walk back to the Jeep and we were back home about a half-hour later.  I wasn't long in getting my squooshy socks off!!
FOLLOW ME DAD, I KNOW THE WAY BACK'
DECIDED TO HEAD OFF IN THIS DIRECTION
I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM GETTING PAST THIS WATER HAZARD BUT I WASN'T SO LUCKY WITH THE ONE BELOW
I TRIED TO GET AROUND THAT LEFT SIDE AND THIS IS WHERE I GOT MY TWO SOAKERS
Clouds and cooler weather dominated the morning but by mid-afternoon skies cleared and the temperatures came up.  Pheebs and I rolled out for an afternoon walk around three.

A WEEK AGO I TOOK THE ABOVE PHOTO OF A SECTION OF THE PINE TREE TRAIL.....BELOW IS TODAY'S PHOTO OF THAT SAME SECTION OF TRAIL
How nice Saturday night to see people out and about around Bayfield.  Folks eating ice cream cones on the main street, a young couple walking hand in hand, and I actually saw a group of children playing together outside.  And none of them had their face plastered into a smartphone.
