IT'S ALREADY TULIP TIME HERE IN SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO |
Quite a stark weather contrast between our Saturday morning and our Sunday morning. No magic in the air today with a cold north wind chill factor driving our cloud-covered temps of 37F down to 28F. Not a nice morning to be out and about this time of year. Our Jeep ride took us around half a dozen familiar roads then home again.

With our house surrounded by cold air for the rest of the day, I never set foot outside with the exception of taking Pheebs for a brisk afternoon walk around the Park's pond. If it wasn't for my reading hobby I don't know what I would do with myself on long cold inside days like this. |

It has been determined by the Cardiologist that Kelly's Mother suffered a significant heart attack early Friday morning. She remains in hospital and is in true fighting spirit determined to get out of there just as fast as she can. |
UNDAUNTED, SHE INSISTED HER SON PETER BRING HER COFFEE AND PASTRIES |
Many times as I drive along with my best pal Pheebs on the seat beside me I think how lucky I am to have such a great friend always with me in these difficult times. I could not wish for a better companion as we wander about on our morning Jeep rides and walks. We are made for each other and I think it must have been some kind of a miracle that we met nearly 10 years ago and have spent every single day together since. We've never had an argument or a bad moment. She never criticizes me for my mistakes nor laughs at my hapless follies. She is patient when I am not and she is understanding when I am confused. She helps me through my depressions and mood swings never slighting or mocking me for either one. She is always positive with never a negative thought in her mind. She has an encompassing happiness about her which is always there both day or night and she can light up anyone's day by just coming into their life. Driving along thinking about things I often wish I was more like my dog and less like me........... GROANER'S CORNER:(( Two elderly ladies were discussing the upcoming dance at the country club. "We're supposed to wear something that matches our husband's hair, so I'm wearing black," said Mrs. Smith. "Oh my," said Mrs. Jones, "I'd better not go."--------------------
“Did you hear the one about the woman who threw her toaster away because it kept burning the bread? She was black toast intolerant.”

Joe: Every night I take two quarters to bed with me. Peter: Whatever for? Joe: They are my sleeping quarters.

Kelly's Mom is a trouper. She looks so healthy and energetic. Sending healing thoughts. I remember the day that you first met Pheebs, you certainly were destined to travel life's paths together.
ReplyDeletePheebs is a beautiful dog, all you have to do is look at your photos to see that, and wonderful dogs do teach us about how to be in life. I suspect Kelly does the same for you, but you're too shy to say it, and I guess it's a little off to bring her up in this context anyway. Ha or Eh?
ReplyDeleteI don't know Canadian.
What a loving and well deserved tribute to Miss Pheeps!
ReplyDeleteThose mom's from the 20's and 30's are some tough gals who have no problem telling the doctors what they will be doing! My mom had a major HA a couple years ago and needed heart surgery. Doc came into her and told he did not want to operate and have her go sit or lay around in a nursing home. Ma snapped at him said "I am not going to no damn nursing home I am going home. She is home... ornery as always. Wishing Kelly's mom a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to hearing that Kelly's Mom is back home soon, and I hope Kelly gets to go down for a visit. Love the cows n horses in the post and Ms Pheebs too!
ReplyDeleteThe fluffy cattle are so cute!! The companionship of a good dog brings out the best in ourselves and enriches our lives so deeply. You and Pheebs are both blessed. 10 years?! Wow. The old apple basket pic is very special.
ReplyDeleteThat must be why they say dogs are a man's best friend! Love all the horses and cattle you find to photograph.
ReplyDeleteA good dog is a loyal friend. Those calves come dressed for winter.
