We could hear the slow approaching storm long before it reached us. A low rumbling almost inaudible sound confirmed what our live radar map was showing us. The storm was about a third of the way across Lake Huron, headed our way, and stretched back far enough to almost cover the State of Michigan. Within the hour it was here. Kelly and Pheebs barely made it back from their morning walk before the heavy rains hit. Undaunted by all that water falling from the sky Pheebs and I made a mad dash for the carport. Minutes later we were sloshing our way to Bayfield for a wee drive-around the village. Less than half an hour after that we were on our way home again. There would be no country roads or forest walks for us guys this morning.I'M GUESSING THIS SMALL BUTTERFLY AS A WEST VIRGINIA WHITE SAW THIS MACHINE AT BAYFIELD'S BEACH THIS MORNING AND MY GUESS IS THEY ARE GOING TO BRING IN LOADS OF LARGE BOULDERS TO BOLSTER THE SHORELINE
With cooler air upon us it was a perfect time to concentrate my efforts on a final push to finish up our carport's storage area deep clean-up and reorganization. Even managed to set aside some stuff for the Goodwill store. We just got way too much old stuff we don't need.THERE ARE COTTAGES NEXT TO BAYFIELD'S BEACH AND HERE YOU CAN SEE ONE OF THE COTTAGERS HAS LOST A NICE EVERGREEN TREE DUE TO EROSION CAUSED BY HIGH WATER LEVELS AND STORM DRIVEN WAVES
Morning rains finally let up by early afternoon followed by slowly clearing skies. Luckily the air remained on the cooler side so Pheebs and I headed out for a muddy mid afternoon walk managing a few photos along the way.
PHEEBS ALWAYS CHECKS TO MAKE SURE I'M STILL COMING....US GUYS ALWAYS LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER
NO, THAT IS NOT A YELLOW FLOWER....THOSE ARE A BUTTERFLY WINGS |

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A drunk was walking down the sidewalk with a limp. A man coming in the opposite direction noticed that he only had one shoe on. The man said to the drunk, "Hey buddy, what's the matter, lose a shoe"? The drunk replied, "Nah, found one".

ATTORNEY: What was the first thing your husband said to you that morning?
WITNESS: He said, 'Where am I, Cathy?'
ATTORNEY: And why did that upset you?
WITNESS: My name is Susan!

We got drenched here as well this morning. Then it once again dried up this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteKnow what you mean about heading back to the Southwest.
I posted a picture of a forecast for Windsor some time back showing a high of 191 F. Even with Global Warming thank goodness it didn't happen.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
I look forward to seeing photos from your trip in the SW this winter. Seems this border closure cannot continue forever. Who knows, maybe our paths will cross again soon as we have our plans to go after the holidays.

ReplyDeleteI feel the same nostalgia from my annual drives across the U.S. I miss the excitement of the journey, but in my heart realize it will always be just a great memory for me.
ReplyDeleteDon't return until this current occupant of the White House is gone. I'll miss your Southwest photos.
ReplyDeleteOh how those sunsets will be missed. This just might be our first winter with now in 20 years. Not sure how I am going to cope. Lovely photos today. By the way our girls always used to turn and look back to make sure that we are following them.
