FINALLY, NO NEED FOR THE JEEP'S HEATER THIS MORNING

Morning's warmth and gentle rains left us with a light grey fog hanging motionless in our tall pine trees.  A welcome change after so many months of consistently cold weather.  Feeling that warmer air on my skin this morning went a long way in shirking off the remnants of our long cold lingering Winter into Spring.  Not often I start my day wearing a bright yellow raincoat but this morning was one of those times.
BAYFIELD'S RIVERSIDE DOCKS ARE IN PLACE AND HOPEFULLY THIS YEAR THE BOATS WILL SOON COME
DREDGING CONTINUES AT THE MOUTH OF THE BAYFIELD RIVER
NEW BARRIERS ARE NOW IN PLACE BLOCKING BAYFIELD'S RUINED BEACH
AND IT LOOKS LIKE SOME HEAVY EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN LOADED UP AFTER DEMOLISHING THE OLD BAYFIELD BRIDGE
No need for the Jeep's heater this morning but the challenge was keeping the inside of the Jeep dry with Pheebs insisting she have her window down.  Somehow we managed despite the intermittent deluge of water falling from an unseen sky at times.  As we drove slowly through the countryside I could hear plants and trees giggling their delightful pleasure with morning's rain and warmer temperatures.  Leaves were coming out so fast on the trees I could almost see them unfolding.
A SLIGHT TOUCH OF MIST STILL IN THE AIR
FORESTS ARE NOW QUICKLY GROWING THEIR SPRING COLORS
I STOOD HERE THIS MORNING LISTENING TO THE PRETTIEST SONGBIRD SOMEWHERE IN THOSE TREES AND IT TOOK ME AWHILE TO FIND IT
I WAS SO SURPRISED TO SEE IT WAS A MALE ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK
THIS FARMER'S BUSH LANE IS ALWAYS A NICE PLACE TO WALK
Home again I washed Kelly's car while dodging around between raindrops.  No point in washing the Jeep because it will simply get dirty all over again on Saturday morning's gravely road Jeep ride.
APPLE BLOSSOMS
We have baby Chipmunks scurrying around our yard now and they are such a comical delight to watch as they race every which way chasing each other.  I am sure glad I am one of those lucky people who grew up with the love animals in my heart.
Disappointed when I read today the town of Goderich has decided to go ahead with some kind of paid access to their beach area when it re-opens.  Possibly parking meters.  It has been one of the main sources for my many blog photos these past 14 years.  Goderich has been a favorite town of mine for a long time with it's small-town flavor and homey atmosphere.  And of course it's easily accessible, free and well-maintained beach and cove areas.
Skies cleared by late afternoon and we ended our day in brilliant sunshine.  Temps hung in there for the day so no need to wear a coat on our afternoon walk.  Two Canada Geese on the pond but no sign of the Mallard duck couple.
CREEK EMBANKMENTS ARE QUICKLY GREENING UP

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A trucker came into a truck stop cafe and placed his order. He said, "I want three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards." The brand new waitress, not wanting to appear stupid, went to the kitchen and said to the cook, "This guy out there just ordered three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running Boards. What does he think this place is, an auto parts store?"  "No," the cook said, "Three flat tires mean three pancakes, a pair of headlights is two eggs sunny side up, and running boards are 2 slices of crisp bacon."  "Oh, OK!" said the waitress. She thought about it for a moment and then spooned up a bowl of beans and gave it to the trucker.  He asked, "What are the beans for?"  She replied, "I thought while you were waiting for the flat tires, headlights and running boards, you might as well gas up!"

Husband:  "I changed a light bulb today."

Wife:  "That's it?  I did the laundry, vacuumed the house, washed windows, cooked three meals, and the list goes on and on ... and you changed a single light bulb?"
Husband:  "Yep, that's what I did today.  Watch this; I even filmed myself doing it."

  2. The sun finally showed itself right before sunset up here East of Algonquin. I stood outside after dinner finding so much joy in all the different bird song. My friend the next concession over said she had Orioles and hummingbird s show up this evening, so I chopped up an orange and filled the feeders. The little hummers buzzed in out of nowhere! Hopefully the Orioles will stop by tomorrow.

  3. Glad to see spring finally arriving.
This virus has changed a lot of things and some municipalities are trying to recover without the federal assistance.
Even though I've worked at heights I prefer working on the ground.
It probably took all day to make that climb and decent.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  8. Your photographs are absolutely fantastic. Loved the "greening up" & bush lane views. Makes me wish I was there. Also, love to see what I miss since moving to the swamp. The macro shots of the flowers and buds are so clear it's almost like standing next to them. The chipmunk's pose, perfect, brought back great memories of childhood vacations in the north Wisconsin woods. Thanks so much, Al. I enjoy my time spent on your blog.
