THIS DRYDOCKED SAILBOAT'S STERN WILL SOON BE PROWLING THE DEEP WATERS OF LAKE HURON......NICE ARTWORK |
DEFINATELY A RAINY START TO OUR DAY |
NO SIGN OF ANY SATURDAY MORNING WORKERS AT THE BAILEY BRIDGE SITE |
THEY HAVE BEGUN GRADING THE SOUTHERN APPROACH TO THE BRIDGE |
FOODLAND'S WELL STOCKED SHELVES |
BAYFIELD'S SHOP BIKE COFFEE ROASTERS ON MAIN STREET ARE STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS AND WILL DELIVER |
ON THIS DARK DRAB DAY I KEPT MY EYE OUT FOR SPLASHES OF COLOR AROUND THE HARBOR AREA |
A FISHING BOAT OUT OF WATER FOR WINTER |
WITH IT'S WOODEN TRIM, GREEN COLOR, AND FANCY DRAGON ON THE STERN I THINK THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST SAILBOARTS IN THE HARBOR |
It would be a stretch to say there was any warmth in the air this morning but it was Okay to be out in our carport's storage area re-arranging things for summer. We have a lot of RV stuff piled in there and the only real way to deal with that is to get another RV to put all that stuff back into. It was nearly high noon when the Sun finally popped through the clouds bringing afternoon temps up to over 50F. We're slowly getting there:))
LOOKING WEST IN OUR CARPORT'S STORAGE AREA AND YES I EVEN HAVE MUSIC IN THERE TOO |
LOOKING EAST AND THAT IS ALL OUR RV STUFF ON THE RIGHT SO YOU CAN SEE WE DO NEED ANOTHER RV TO STORE THAT ALL IN |
THESE VEHICLE CLEANING AND WAXING SUPPLIES SPENT WINTER IN OUR HOUSE AND NOW HAVE TO BE RETURNED TO THEIR OUTDOOR SUMMER CABINET |
LOTS OF RAIN THIS MORNING AND MORE COMING OVERNIGHT INTO SUNDAY |
My garden came up crooked. It's true what they say about the best laid plants.
============================
We have a small, local grocery store on the edge of the town closest to us. I much prefer to give them my custom these days too.
ReplyDeleteYa know what? You're a pretty good writer. Those first few sentences. Good. Of course I have commented before that your photos are. And as for the rest of the text, yes. As a native Texan, still living there (don't ask) I applaud your sentiments. Spot on.
ReplyDeleteI have often commented on my Canadian friends blogs, yours included, that you need to be involved in or at least concerned with world politics because it can and will effect all of us in some way no matter which country your from.
ReplyDeleteIn these troubled times sometimes the only sane answer to take a break from the deluge of media beating us from all sides. We need to be informed but not immersed completely day after day, week after week. I think you are wise to step back and breathe slowly and deeply and move forward with things you can accomplish, taking a break from things you can't.
ReplyDeleteI loved the splashes of colour, some were very vibrant and I'm sure cheered the dull surroundings a great deal. I'm always curious about the thought behind some of the creative names on boats I've seen over the years. Thanks for the photos Al.
I like the little dust thing, very cute.
Beautiful boats but I gather you've never been a boats man. The desert is your calling. I don't watch the news but I do read articles from the news agencies occasionally. I like just being away from it all in a warm climate. :))
ReplyDeleteShop local when you can!
ReplyDeleteAl, I’ve been saying for years: “If you want the REAL story in regards to U.S. politics, ask a Canadian.” I learned more from two mechanics at a Canadian Tire during an oil change a number of years ago than I did in the preceding year at home. It’s eye opening.
ReplyDeleteThose grocery store pics are like porn! Glad you're in good shape. We're one big mess. I'm grateful we have a home base to ride it out. Pretty boats!
ReplyDeleteI have never felt Canadians did not care about us and America. We are family.
ReplyDeleteHubby watches TV 24/7....I have to leave the room when the our fearless liar-in-chief is speaking.
ReplyDeleteLovely colourful photos but I would have expected the boat "Summer Heat " to have more color.
