AH COME ON WIARTON WILLY AND PUNXSUTAWNEY PHIL CUT US AN EARLY SPRING THIS YEAR WILL YA:))

With my mind tightly gripped to Groundhog Day Sunday my common sense self desperately awaits the Prognosticator's logical prediction.  I see it as my last faint hope to survive the Winter.  Actually, despite my casual complaining now and again I have done somewhat better than I thought I would these past few months.  All my fears of having to stay home this Winter have materialized of course but my overall positive reaction to these adversities has been stronger than even I expected.  Now that does not mean I am ONE with Winter, a happy camper, or becoming comfortably acclimatized to this miserable cold damp weather.  That will never happen.  I do not like Winter and that is all there is too it.  So what has been my biggest saving grace??  Well, still being able to get out every morning for a Jeep ride with Pheebs is a biggy of course and my blog keeps me busy for a number of hours each day.  Reading has been a huge help and it's quite possible my Verilux Happy Light has also played an important role.  TV has occupied some time too.  We haven't given up on finding a small RV yet either so there is potential for some feeling good excitement there as well.  Spring of course is my number one focus now and that is what I have tenaciously gripped onto.  We don't have any of that good old 'looking forward to heading home' from the Southwest excitement this year because we never experienced the simple excitement of leaving home in the first place.  But it is the way it is and there isn't a whole lot I can do about it.  So come on Wiarton Willy and Punxsutawney Phil, cut us a big beautiful early Spring this year will ya please:))
LAKE HURON'S ICY SHORE LINE
A routine morning again for Pheebs and I.  Off to Goderich, down to the harbor, snap a few photos, buy some socks, and head home again.  Began snowing heavy by mid afternoon so Boogsy and I didn't get out for an afternoon walk.  Maybe tomorrow if the snow quits and isn't too deep.  And that's it for another blog on another long and snowy cold Winter's day.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  You are driving in a car at a constant speed. On your left side is a 'drop off', (The ground is 18-20 inches below the level you are traveling on), and on your right side is a fire engine traveling at the same speed as you. In front of you is a galloping horse, which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it. Behind you is a galloping zebra. Both the horse and zebra are also traveling at the same speed as you. What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?
Get your drunk-ass off the merry-go-round!!

My friend Kimberly announced that she had started a diet to lose some pounds she had put on recently. “Good!” I exclaimed. “I’m ready to start a diet too. We can be dieting buddies and help each other out. When I feel the urge to drive out and get a burger and fries, I’ll call you first.”“Great!” she replied. “I’ll ride with you.”

  1. You are playing my favorite song. My father and I would listen to Pat M. for hours.

  2. It has been a wonderful photographic experience for me to get to see your superior camera skills at work on snow/ice subjects. You have made some great lemonade from the lemons thrown your way this year. Thank you very much.

  3. Thanks Al. Your icy photos remind me why I'm here and not there. :))

  4. February is the most difficult month of the year I think. I do believe the sun lamp has helped you this year, plus I think keeping an eye open for a new rig and the possibility of future travels helps as well. Very cold water, must be pretty sluggish now. Keep snapping and editing and before you know it, spring will be here and there too.

  5. I'm finding winter easier than I thought too, partly because your blog always inspires me! At least Willie and Phil came up with the right answer!
