STUMBLING ALONG
My blog is beginning to feel like an old Volkswagen Beetle almost out of gas and I have already switched the reserve tank lever to on. I scan the road ahead and see no gas station, only a curve in the road. My tires are worn and my engine is tired. My exterior is rusted my insides faded. Worn wipers barely keep a pitted windshield clear anymore as headlights become dimmer with age. Each day when I turn the key my little VW blog engine starts yet one more time and I make it a little further down the road. It's been quite a journey so far and maybe if I can just make it around that next little bend in the road I'll find another gas station waiting to once again fill my empty tank. A few more miles, a few more photos, a few more words.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( On a rural road a state trooper pulled this farmer over and said: "Sir, do you realize your wife fell out of the car several miles back?" To which the farmer replied: "Thank God, I thought I had gone deaf!"

Well some of us rely on your old bus for our dailly dose of countryside travels, so do it for us!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your travels around the farms and town

Yes, your photos and words are real treats. I do have imagination sufficient to see how it might feel like a slog for you....thanks for keeping on in spite.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with all of the above. I like the Old VW Bug.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are still the same, beautiful as ever. I just think you're running out of words because you feel they are repetitious. Don't worry about it. We'll still be coming back for more.
ReplyDeleteI would gladly drive the 1500+ miles from Texas to Bayfield to bring you gas, if it were only that simple. My life would certainly take a downward spiral if I did not have your blog to enjoy. It isn't fair for you to carry the load for so many of us. Just KNOW that you are very much appreciated, nay, loved, for the effort you put forth. P. S. I agree very much with the comment Liz made in Shoutbox.
ReplyDeleteLook forward each night to your blog and wonderful photos. Please keep on keepin.' Soon you will go around the corner and that Tim Horton's will be open and all will be right with the world (as they say).
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the old VW analogy tonight. I could smell the old VW as you used your toe to switch to reserve. The old wipers on the damaged windshield brought back memories of imaginary defrost keeping a hole clear to see through.
ReplyDeleteYour posts are the highlight of my day. My friends in Alaska wish they were not there for a while lately.
We do appreciate the VW. It takes the best pictures! I look forward to reading your blog daily
ReplyDeleteAl, I don't find your words empty at all. I enjoy reading your blog!
