BIT OF A STRESSFUL MORNING BUT IT ALL WORKED OUT IN THE END

Snow sliding off our roof in the night woke Kelly up several times as temperatures continued to rise climbing through the dark hours from yesterday's 23F to this morning's 43F.

The Ford Explorer did not pass it's safety check Thursday with unseen needed repairs being way too costly.   After talking to the understanding and gracious previous owner (who was also surprised at the repairs) it was mutually agreed he would take the truck back.  Monies were returned and we called it a day.  This fellow didn't have to do that but like a gentleman he did.  I have a lot of respect for people like that.  So disappointing about the truck though because I really liked that little Ford Explorer Sport Trac and it's practical applications.  We have no immediate plans to look for another one:((
OH HOW RV'ERS LOVE TO SEE WELCOMING SIGNS LIKE THIS
AND BY GOLLY THERE IS ONE OF THOSE SIGNS IN GODERICH TOO:))
ALTHOUGH AT A TURTLE'S PACE BAYFIELD'S TIM HORTONS IS STILL ON THE MOVE
No Jeep ride for Pheebs and I this morning.  Kelly and I had some vehicle business in Clinton to take care of.  That done it was 11 before we were home again.  About noon with Pheebs sitting beside my computer chair staring at me I felt guilty for not taking her out eariler so it was out the door with the little Darlin and into the Jeep we went.  I needed a few photos for my post anyway so drove into Bayfield and cruised around for half an hour before heading home again.  Pheebs indicated to me whe was quite happy not to have missed her morning Jeep ride.

Spent a few hours this afternoon going through 5 bins of old photos.  Many photos are old family pictures dating from the early 1900's, many are my photos beginning back in the mid 60's dating up to the late 90's when I switched from 35mm film to digital.  Many are from when I had a small business in the mid 80's re-doing old black and white photographs.  I would re-photograph aging pictures after touching them up when needed and make new prints for folks.  I also gave customers the black and white negatives as well.  Yes I do have a lot of old photos hanging around.
::An Archive Memory:: Looking for a particular photo this morning I came across a post I wrote on June 30th, 2011.  Found the photo I was looking for and decided to include the post.  Motormouse Helps Me Look For Gold In My New Shoes.
::Al's Musical Favs::  Occidente by Arojas:  This one is long but pleasantly relaxing.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  A man waking up from anesthesia after surgery had his wife sitting by his side.  His eyes fluttered open and he said, "You're beautiful!" and then he fell asleep again.  His wife had never heard him say that so she stayed by his side.  A couple minutes later his eyes fluttered open and he said, "You're cute!"  Well, the wife was dissapointed because instead of "beautiful" it was "cute.  "She said, "What happened to 'beautiful'?"  His reply was: "The drugs are wearing off!"

A six-year-old boy called his mother from his friend Charlie's house and confessed he had broken a lamp when he threw a football in their living room. "But, Mom," he said, brightening, "you don't have to worry about buying another one. Charlie's mother said it was irreplaceable."

  1. Haha. I like the 'Old car guys', very funny. Very generous of the fella to return the money and take back the Bronco. You were fortunate.
How nice to have all that white stuff melting and going away. I liked the black & white photo at the end, very nice.

  3. Too bad the truck couldn't cut the mustard. Sure was nice of the previous owner to take it back. I wouldn't have had the guts to ask. Bravo to you!

  4. Always nice when we're treated well, and always hope we would do the same thing in similar circumstances. I'm slowly getting back to the blogging world and have to laugh that the Tim Horton's still isn't finished :-)))) Your little black squirrels are sooooo cute!!
