::An Archive Memory:: Reading Doug Lanning's blog titled Stuck In The Sand I was reminded of a similar situation back on December 24th 2007 while boondocked at the Clark Dry Lake Bed near Borrego Springs California. My post for that day is here..... Helping Out Some Fellow Canadians.
::Al's Musical Favs:: The Homecoming by Haygood Hardy (yes that is his actual Canadian name) Many may remember this tune from years ago as the Salada Tea commercial. Has always been a favorite of mine and I am sure many others too.
GROANER'S CORNER:(( He then said, "Now, I have to leave for a little while. I expect you guys to make a dent in that there pile."The foreman went away for a of couple hours, and, when he returned, the pile of sand was untouched. He asked the Italian, "Why didn't you sweep any of it?" The Italian replied, "I no hava no broom. You said to the Chinese fella that he a wasa in a charge of supplies, but he hasa disappeared and I no coulda finda him nowhere." Then the foreman turned to the Scotsman and said, "And you, I thought I told you to shovel this pile."The Scotsman replied, "Aye, ye did lad, boot ah couldnay get meself a shoovel! Ye left th' Chinese gadgie in chairge of supplies, boot ah couldnay fin' him either." The foreman was really angry by now and stormed off toward the pile of sand to look for the Chinese guy. Just then, the Chinese guy jumped out from behind the pile of sand and yelled... "SUPPLIES!!"

A cowboy was leading a flock of sheep down Main Street when he was ordered to stop by the town policeman. “What’s wrong?” the cowboy asked. “I was just heading my ewes into a side street.” “That’s the trouble,” the policeman replied. “No ewe turns permitted on Main Street!”

The snow looks deep in places. Dolly is having the same kind of winter except not the same snow accumulation. Cold for a day or two and then up to the 40s. Almost like winter can't make up its mind.
ReplyDeleteJust read you link to your stuck I the sand adventure and the two rigs looked almost identical in size. Same circumstances too. I'm sure our jerry rig of nylon ropes tied to my Jeep probably wouldn't work and I'm glad I was spared the effort. Makes for new friends and a good feeling.
ReplyDeleteBrrr, even though it is probably calm in the pictures, I shivered seeing the snow!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photos Al. I enjoyed the creek photo. Sluggish water with that cold slate colour. Definitely winter in Ontario.
ReplyDeletePhotos tonight are just beautiful. Your photography skills are truly amazing.
