AWWWW NUTS IT'S NOVEMBER

WELCOME TO NOVEMBER
Big winds rolled into our area late Thursday evening knocking out our power sometime in the night.  Woke up around 2:30 a.m. and all was dark.  Woke up again around 5:30 and power was back on.
BIG WINDS BRING BIG WAVES
THOUGHT THESE WERE FISHERMEN AT FIRST ON BAYFIELD'S SOUTH PIER BUT NO THEY ARE SURFERS
LEAPING INTO LAKE HURON'S COLD WATERS
I THINK THE LAKE SWALLOWED THAT FELLOW UP
THE SECOND GUY JUMPS IN
OH THERE THEY ARE
Noticed when heading out with Pheebs this morning small branches down and a few dead trees had been toppled along Bayfield River Road.  Nothing serious and broken limbs had already been cleared off the road.  Crews have to get out early to make roads passable for school buses.
OVERNIGHT WINDS HAVE STRIPPED MANY TREES OF THEIR COLORFUL LEAVES
JUST A FEW DAYS AGO THERE WAS STILL A LOT OF COLOR ALONG THIS ROAD
WIND AND RAIN HAVE PRETTY WELL STRIPPED THIS BUSH LINE OF IT'S AUTUMN'S COLOR
THE GRAY DAYS OF NOVEMBER ARE NOW FAST UPON US
LOOKS LIKE A BIT OF SLEET ACCUMULATION ON THIS BARN ROOF
AT LEAST OUR EVERGREEN TREES WILL STAY GREEN ALL WINTER
PROTECTED FROM OVERNIGHT WINDS THIS BUSH LINE HAS TEMPORARILY HELD ON TO SOME OF IT'S AUTUMN COLOR
A cold wind and some sleet in the air this morning but at least the rain had finally stopped.  No sunshine.  Cut our Jeep ride short and came home.  At the time of posting this tonight our thermometer is sitting at 32F.  Rain predicted for the next 3 days....……...
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Customer in a waterfront restaurant:
“Waiter, these are very small oysters!”
Waiter: “Yes sir, they are very small.”
Customer: “Also, they do not appear to be very fresh!”
Waiter with a resourceful response: “Then it’s lucky they’re small, isn’t it sir.”

  2. I am always sad when the fall color gives way to the monochrome of winter. Yes the conifers are green, but my eye seems to dwell on the browns, greys, and whites. The storm front in your area previously rolled in and dumped a lot of early fall snow on us, pretty much snowing in the jeep roads I like to drive. Too early to take the camper south, but soon I am heading to Moab to play jeep with friends. That should help set aside the cabin fever of this past snowy week. Take care Al and Kelly.

  4. The leaves came raining down here today. That's for sure. I'm hoping November will be mild but this first cold week coming up is not boding well.

I can't believe there were surfers in those rough and cold waters. Only the young,..

  5. Wish the rain was coming to California where it is needed and would really help with all of the fires.

  6. I feel your pain, I never liked days like that. That is when I would crawl back in my cave for the winter.

  9. I feel your pain here in southwest Utah, where it hasn't rained for 140 days and nights. Send a shower our way, but you can keep the cold...
