The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture."Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher, She's dead."

Nice post for a down day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving. I am thankful that you have your health. That RV just might show up in the spring. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed those bright fall colours. None that striking down this way. That Pheeps is so talented, to be able to honk the horn. Happy Thanksgiving to all 3 of you
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Al and Kelly!
ReplyDeleteI understand how you feel about this coming winter, That's how I feel about coming summers here.
Beautiful fall photos tonight. Love the ones of Miss Pheebs as your driver.
ReplyDeleteGotta love those fall colors, the reality of us staying home this winter is slowly sinking in with us, and like you really not looking forward to after the last 13 winters down south. We did it before and we can do it again though we don't have to like it, just keep smiling and waiting for spring, before we know it will be here.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! We hate the thoughts of being home this Winter too. It's our 2nd Winter in a row to be stuck in Illinois! The only good side is that Winter does offer some awesome photo opportunities!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and Kelly. Think positive, winter isn't here yet and maybe it will be a mild and short one.
ReplyDeleteThe Fall colors are so pretty and calming, like slowing down to take a nice nap. Such a contrast to the violent, crashing waves (which I also love!).
ReplyDeleteI LIVE down south (Texas) and recall with great delight and pleasure my two years of cold and snow in upstate New York. Of course I was a young thing in my 20's. But it was beautiful to see, and I think I might still think so, as long as I had a warm place to live and sleep. I have a friend who grew up in North Dakota, and as soon as he was able, he headed south and has stayed. So I understand the dread. It is, as Jo above, said, the feeling that one has when approaching summer here. Ah. The grass is always greener.
