Not a breeze was stirring not even a leaf. And so began another fine mid September morning here in southwestern Ontario's rural farm belt. Aside from Kelly, Pheebs and I taking a short drive to have a look at an old house on the Maitland River that a friend of ours recently bought and is renovating there wasn't much of anything interesting going on. Just a beautiful September's day all around. With low energy levels I instead spent a relaxing afternoon in our sunroom recliner reading and snoozing. Our sunroom with it's big scenic windows is the next best thing to actually being outside. From my recliner I can see all the greenery in our front yard and feel the warming rays of sunshine on my feet. I can watch birds, squirrels, and chipmunks coming and going. Soothing music on the stereo, enjoyable reading from my Kindle, and a banana/apple shake in a tall glass beside me. Some days it's just nice to quietly sit and enjoy one's surroundings and today was the kind of day for doing just that...............

MY VIEW |
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A passenger train is creeping along, painfully slowly. Finally, it creaks to a complete halt. A passenger sees a conductor walking by outside. "What's going on?" she yells out the window. "Cow on the track!" replies the conductor. Ten minutes later, the train resumes its slow pace. Within five minutes, however, it stops again. The woman sees the same conductor walking by again. She leans out the window and yells, "What happened? Did we catch up with the cow again?"
