A RELAXING DRIZZLY DAY AS WE BEGIN TO RE-THINK OUR RV PLANS

Clouds moved in overnight and brought us a rainy Sunday morning drizzle.  Loaded up the little Boogaloo Bug and with the Jeep's intermittent wipers going we headed off in the general direction of Clinton.  With a small Hortons coffee to go it was over to the Hullett Marsh with us.  Pheebs hopped out for a little walk around while I managed one photo in the light rain.

Could have turned around and come home but with only a single photo in the camera we headed north a few country roads looking for a few more pics.  Found them then slowly headed back.  Despite gray drizzly skies it was still nice to be out and about.  Heater on low and Pheebs window down made for a comfortable drive.

When summer days are hot and humid outside I find coming inside to air conditioning a huge relief.  On cool or cold days coming inside to a warmly heated interior I call a heavenly feeling of cozy and comfortable.  We are experiencing days of the latter now and I totally love it.  Had the little heater under our computer desk going and revelled in the warm air waffling up and enveloping me.  Even cranked up our Vermont Casting gas stove in the sunroom beside my recliner while reading.  Wasn't long and I had that sunroom all warm and toasty.  Yes, 'cozy' is the active word here.  Love it:))
Despite our drizzly afternoon Pheebs and I did manage a walk to the end of a road being pushed through our Park's forest.  Eventually there will be more units built along this road but I think the key word there is 'eventually'.

PHEEBS KEEPS ME IN SIGHT
The response to the selling of our camper van was absolutely overwhelming and although we knew the chances were excellent to re-sell the van when we bought it we still found quick response surprising.  Calls from as far away as Quebec, Peterborough and Sarnia, etc.  Kelly put the van on Auto-Trader, Kijiji, Facebook, and a local buy and sell site.  It was someone on our local Goderich buy and sell site who spotted the ad and ended up buying it.  When we bought the van a month ago in Palmerston we did not buy the van to re-sell it.  Neither Kelly or I are money minded that way and we bought that van to use it.  We knew that Saturday morning if we didn't grab the van right away somebody else right behind us would.  The Palmerston van owner's phone was ringing while we were looking at the van.  We had to make a quick decision and did.  We later felt our quick decision was a mistake but as it turned out in the end our perceived mistake turned out in our favor.  We learned a lot with the main thing being the living quarters of a Class B were just too small for us no matter how many times we sat in the van trying to figure out how to renovate it for more room.  I knew before hand how great it would be to drive and it was.  And that is the biggest part of a Class B van I will miss.  Okay, so what's next??  With our heads on a little smarter now I think we'll just take a temporary step back and grab us a break from our future RV plans at the moment.  We need a breather while the dust settles.  We're still a few months away from the snow flying and we'll take that time to think things over.
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Three sisters ages 92, 94 and 96 live in a house together.   One night the 96 year old draws a bath.. She puts her foot in and pauses...
She yells to the other sisters, "Was I getting in or out of the bath?"   The 94 year old yells back, "I don't know. I'll come up and see."   She starts up the stairs and pauses "Was I going up the stairs or down?"   The 92 year old is sitting at the kitchen table having tea listening to her sisters.   She shakes her head and says, "I sure hope I never get that forgetful," she knocked on wood.
She then yells, "I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door."

  4. Enjoyed the farm drive pictures. My neighbor sent me a text with a pic of their class B adventure and one is sleeping in a tent they had to buy. Seems small spaces did not agree with him. They are going to finish their trip though.

  5. I loved the photos - living in California I really envy you with all that beautiful green grass around you.

I sold my 34 ft 5th wheel after a couple of years and bought a camper that fit on the truck. Never was happy with that and was glad to get rid of it. After that, I would my way back and forth across the country for several years on the back roads, either camping out at night or staying in motels along the way. Much easier for me, especially as a solo traveler.

  6. The photos are just wonderful - favorites are the ones of the barns and horses - but the favorite is the one of Miss Pheebs watching you!
