NICE TO HAVE AN RV PARKED IN OUR RV SPOT AGAIN |
WITH THIS DRY HOT WEATHER FARMERS HAVE BEEN VERY BUSY |
THE VAN WAS ALL GASSED UP AND READY TO GO |
DOING THE PAPERWORK |
NICOLE TOOK A COUPLE PHOTOS OF US |
THAT IS ACTUALLY A COOLER |
HEADING FOR BAYFIELD |
I GOTTA STOP TAKING SELFIES CAUSE EVERY TIME I LOOK AT THEM I SEE SOMEONE WHO LOOKS MUCH OLDER THAN ME AND I'M NOT SURE WHO HE REALLY IS |
WHEN PHEEBS WASN'T NAVIGATING SHE WAS CATCHING A FEW ZZZZZZZ'S ON THE FLOOR (BELOW) |
WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO GET HER A NICE SOFT DOGGY BED FOR BACK THERE.....ME TOO |
WE STOPPED FOR A BREAK ABOUT HALF WAY HOME BEHIND THIS ABANDONED LITTLE SOUTHWEST LOOKING BUILDING |
FUNNIEST THING......PHEEBS AND I HAD A BROWN JEEP LIBERTY FOLLOWING US ALL THE WAY HOME |
SEEMS LIKE WE HAVE OUR LITTLE PART TIME RV FAMILY BACK IN PLACE AGAIN |
ALTHOUGH IT'S 17 YEARS OLD AND THE EXTERIOR IS KINDA ON THE ROUGH SIDE IT RUNS GOOD AND IS A PLEASURE TO DRIVE....AND IT WAS AFFORDABLE FOR US |
CLEANING OUT THE 'FREEDO VANDITO WAGON' |
NO IT'S NOT AN UNDERGROUND PARKING GARAGE IT'S A LARGE DURABLE STRENTH STORAGE BIN THAT RUNS THE ENTIRE WIDTH OF THE VAN UNDERNEATH THE BACK COUCH/BED AND HAS THREE ENTRY POINTS |
THIS IS THE SAME BIN FROM ABOVE....A FLAT COVER GOES OVER THERE ALLOWING EVEN MORE STORAGE UNDER THE COUCH |
SAME LARGE BIN LOOKING THROUGH FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE |
OH BOY WE SURE HAVE A LOT OF WORK AHEAD OF US TO GET THIS VAN THE WAY WE WANT IT |
================
Yay! This was a good day!
ReplyDeleteNice van. Lots of room to hang out in the hospital parking lot while procedures are being done. We parked our truck camper in the hospital parking lot in Boise Idaho when our daughter was in the hospital for 3 months. All the family enjoyed taking a break from hospital walls and waiting areas. We could eat a home cooked meal, watch tv or just take a nap.
ReplyDeleteNice looking rigs and a good choice for you guys at this point in your lives, We have good friends that last year sold their 45 ft class A and bought a house in Yuma and a class B they call their escape pod! Works for them too, You guys will have so much fun with this rig.
ReplyDeleteYou probably just cut your maintenance expenses in half. No more truck shops for minor problems.
ReplyDeletePerfect for you right now, it's going to be so much easier and less stressful to travel.
ReplyDeleteI love the way You and Kelly think about your medical issues. Right on about not sitting home being more miserable get out and enjoy! Surprised George didn't mention the wax he uses for his motor home.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy setting it up and enjoy all your adventures short or long!
Good decision. At least the dream is still alive. Have fun getting Freedo Vandito ready to go.
ReplyDeleteTotally understand the need for something positive in the frame for you right now! Doubly smart of you to think of the double duty that the van might serve. Also it's a plus that you didn't have to incur a big debt to get it. When my world went downhill, the best I could do was get a new puppy. He sure helps, though. Meanwhile, please take it a bit easy on the work. You need to take care of you. Kelly and Pheebs are counting on you.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the Van, looks wonderful... can wait to welcome ya back to the USA.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new chapter in life. May it be most enjoyable as you go exploring.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me happy for you guys to have found something that will suit this next chapter in your lives. I appreciate your honesty and forward-looking attitude. Hope you can make it back to the Southwest this year. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new van, I`m sure you will make lots of new memories. I like your positive attitude and thinking on your medical issues.
ReplyDeleteOnce again you have found a great vehicle as your escape pod. I agree with all of your reasons and glad to see that point of view. It sure looks like "the Pheebs" approves. Isn't it interesting how dogs always find their new sleeping spots in a different vehicle. The new RV looks great in that parking space at your house. Here's too more great traveling ... enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations you three!! Perfect attitude. This is the way you can still do what you love without putting a cramp on looking after the other issues. We are both very happy for your new adventure! You'll love the Freedom!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new ride. Hope you continue to travel for a long time. Maybe a couple of months a year to the SW and some Canadian trips in the summer. Great vehicle.
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice and a great vehicle.. if you find a automotive detail shop talk to them about compounding and waxing it there's a good chance that they'll bring it back to almost the original shine
ReplyDeleteI won't say it's cheap but it sure beats doing it yourself physical wise
It should be a great fit for the next phase! With a little spelling slip you could even call it Frodo - he was a traveler of note too. Gord.
ReplyDeleteLooks real nice Al & Kelly, and Pheebs. Take your time and pace yourself in the heat & humidity. Freedo Vandito has a lot of potential for some relaxing journeys.
ReplyDeleteI think Miss Freedom is lovely! Enjoy it together. Wishing you all the best.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Looks like the perfect rig for you guys because you said it was. No one else's opinion matters. Love the name.
ReplyDeleteNever give up on the dream..It may be packaged differently, but it's still there!! Hugs to you all!!!
ReplyDeleteWow that is the sort of van Kathleen and I have been looking for but have not found - great to see you guys have moves 'up' to this type of home away from home
ReplyDeleteHello Miss Freedom. Looks perfect for you. Where is your maiden voyage going to be?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the van, I've been giving serious thoughts to downsizing myself, and when I do a van is at the top of my list. I'm full timing now in a 30 foot Arctic Fox fifth wheel and even though it's great for living in when I'm in southern Arizona, in Congress boondocking near the old cemeteries, or boondocking in Box Wash at the foot of Vulture Mountain just outside of Wickenburg, short trips into the Colorado mountains where I spent my summer is not fun when pulling a 30 foot fifth wheel.
ReplyDeleteAt the moment I still have too much stuff to full-time in a van but I'm slowly getting rid of things in hopes of finally getting something big enough to full-time in and small enough to boondock out on those dirt roads we all love. Good luck with the van, I'll be keeping up with your blog to see how things go.
Tom. "theboondork"
WONDERFUL!! So glad you're back to having that RV escape pod. I'm sure the biggest benefits will be mental and emotional. Have fun dreaming!
ReplyDeleteYes. It's hard to imagine anything more helpful for all three of you than this van is going to be with the medical travels and dislocations. Good that it's done.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new addition to the family. When I was young ( 10 - 12 ) my parents had purchased a tent trailer. I named it Chalet Libre, "freedom cottage" in English.
ReplyDeletePositive dreams are important to keep moving along:))
