NO MORNING PHOTOS BUT MY MIND FINALLY CLEARED BY NOON

A PEANUT EATING GRACKLE
I guess without all the bad weather days we wouldn't appreciate the good weather days like today.  Bright sunny skies with warmer temperatures.  Not too hot, not too cold.
Not much to say about our Jeep ride this morning, in fact I never took a single photo.  Head just wasn't in photo mode I guess.  The photos were out there of course but I simply wasn't seeing them.  Did manage a few around the front yard later though.
NOT TO BE OUTDONE MR. BLUE JAY SWOOPS IN AND GRABS A PEANUT TOO

My main aim today was to complete the front deck painting project I started a week or so ago.  Being on the south side of the house I knew I had to get at it early before the Sun got around and made it too hot.  I did just that and have stroked another 'to do' project off my list.  Also took our new battery powered lawn mower for a spin and it worked like a charm just I hoped it would.
AFTER NEARLY 15 YEARS OUR OLD TIRED DECK WAS DEFINITELY IN NEED OF A MAKEOVER

AS YOU CAN SEE MR. SMART GUY HERE DIDN'T EVEN PAINT HIMSELF INTO A CORNER

RARE MOMENT AS I DECIDED TO RELAX AND SIT A SPELL ON OUR FRONT PORCH

It's very rare for me when outside around the house to simply sit in a chair, relax, and enjoy our gardens.  This isn't anything new, I've always been like that.  We have some nice areas where I could sit quietly and read but I never do.  Haven't even taken a couple minutes to relax on our recently expanded back deck either.  Whenever I am outside I am always doing something.  I'm working at things, not sitting and enjoying things.  Strange huh but I'm sure there are other crazy characters out here doing much the same thing.
THE VERY LAST BLOOM ON OUR SMALL MAGNOLIA TREE
Little Red took the lead back Sunday morning when I again saw her on the bird station.  Kelly said she was still jumping from the same shrub so I was out yet again with my clippers trimming it back some more.  Despite me leaving birdseed out on the tops of stumps for the Squirrels Little Red seems fixated on that bird station.  As it stands tonight at the time of me posting this I am one up again.

HEY IT'S A DOUBLE BUTT DOVE

THANKS TO MY FEATHERED FRIEND FOR THESE AFTERNOONS PHOTOS

We have noticed there sure isn't a lot of RV's for sale out there.  Well at least not in the category, area, or price range we are looking at.  Any great deals that do appear are quickly being snapped up by American buyers.  With the money exchange it makes it worth their while to haul the RV's back across the border.  Even Forest City Motorhomes in London Ontario are closing their doors.  We bought a Winnebago Access Premier Class C from them a few years ago when we traded in our smaller Class C Chevy Sunseeker.

TIS THE SEASON OF SNAILS

Although skies had clouded over and temps had dropped a bit Pheebs and I made it out for an afternoon walk in the forest anyway.  Although some bugs are in the air there was nothing today to bother us.  No mosquitos, black flies, or gnats.  Best to take advantage of that while we can.
THIS IS THE BIG METAL MONSTER THAT DOES SO MUCH DAMAGE TO THE FOREST

GROANER'S CORNER:((  The farmer's son was returning from the market with the crate of chicken's his father had entrusted to him, when all of a sudden the box fell and broke open. Chickens scurried off in different directions, but the determined boy walked all over the neighborhood scooping up the wayward birds and returning them to the repaired crate. Hoping he had found them all, the boy reluctantly returned home, expecting the worst.  "Pa, the chickens got loose," the boy confessed sadly, "but I managed to find all twelve of them."  "Well, you did real good, son," the farmer beamed. "You left with seven."

Murphy and his wife went for a stroll in the park. They sit down on a bench to rest for awhile. Soon they overhear voices coming from a secluded spot nearby. Suddenly, Mrs. Murphy realizes that a young man is about to propose. Not wanting to be eavesdropping during such an intimate moment, she gently nudges her husband and whispers, "Whistle, to let that young couple know that someone can hear them." To which Murphy replies, "Whistle? Why should I whistle? Nobody whistled to warn me?"

  1. I was always like that too, always doing something, but now I'm learning to sit and appreciate it.

  4. I looked out today at our bird feeder and there seven grey squirrels on it and under it along with a big fat rabbit. The bird feeder is inside the dog's fenced in yard and I have no idea how that big rabbit gets through the fence. I guess if its head fits through, it can squeeze the rest of its body through.

  5. That deck looks like new after your paint job. Love your bird and little red stories that keep us entertained. The area you live in is so beautiful and looks so tranquil and of course your yard is very appealing.

  7. I spent most of my life driven to keep busy and doing something. Now I am so content to let it all go - guess it's getting to a "certain age" and start enjoying the peace of doing nothing!

  8. Your deck looks like a very relaxing place to sit and put your feet up for a bit. I know that I would be using it if I were there. You have a lovely yard.
