WE DECIDED TO STAY A SECOND NIGHT AT THE ENCHANTED TRAILS RV PARK ALONGSIDE I-40 WEST OF ALBUQUERQUE NEW MEXICO
We were up and out the door and over to Camping World by 8 a.m. With new hydraulic lines ready to be installed they took the rig right in and got at it. Same spot as yesterday and same helpful mechanic.
CAN YOU IMAGINE THIS SAME SCENE IN OCTOBER WITH HUNDREDS OF BIG COLORFUL HOT AIR BALLOONS IN THE AIR ALBUQUERQUE INTERNATIONAL BALLOON FIESTA LARGEST BALLOON FESTIVAL IN THE WORLD
With laundry in the Jeep we zipped back over to the Enchanted RV Trails RV Park and I got myself a load in. Nice clean laundry room and nice machines. To wile away my laundry time I had myself a couple games of pool with my late Uncle Harry. He won both games of course so not much has changed since last time we played in ‘real time’ about 10 years ago. Also took a few more pics around the premises.
‘WHATCH DOIN IN THERE DAD’
WELL, LOOKS LIKE UNCLE HARRY WON AGAIN
USING THIS OLD WASH MACHINE IT TOOK A LONG TIME TO DO MY LAUNDRY THIS MORNING
OKAY, OKAY, SO I DIDN’T USE THE OLD WASHER BUT IT LOOKS LIKE KELLY DID IN BETWEEN BOUTS OF RELAXING IN THAT OLD BEAUTY PARLOR LOUNGER
OH GEEEEEZZZZ SOME PEOPLE JUST HAVE TOO MUCH FUN EVERYDAY AND YES THAT IS A REAL CHRISTMAS CACTUS IN THAT OLD WASH TUB
Laundry done we headed for Carl's Jr. again at the Love’s Truck stop just east of Camping World. Like CJ’s great burgs and cheaper prices. Picked up some milk at Love’s convenience store and headed back to Camping World close to 11. They were just wrapping up and putting the front wheel back on the coach.
MANUFACTURED HEAT SHIELD TO CONTAIN THE HYDRAULIC LINES FROM SLIPPING OFF THE CHASSIS FRAME
ALL OUR HYDRAULIC LINES HAVE NOW BEEN REPLACED
They checked out our leaking back wheel and the mechanic tightened the nuts on the axle flange which were noticeably loose. Said for us to watch for any more signs of leakage but thinks we might be alright now. Our bill was slightly over $1,600 which is about what we expected. Yes Camping World has a reputation for being expensive but other than that we have no complaints. Their shop rate is $135 an hour. It’s not likely we will reap the long term benefits of all the money we have spent on new parts this last while but I’m sure some new owner will at some point. We still plan to sell the Motorhome once we get home and possibly look for something smaller and newer. Maybe there’s someone out there looking to trade something smaller and newer for something bigger and older. Ya right!! Keep in mind, our rig is solar equipped.
ENCHANTED TRAILS FRONT OFFICE, CHECK-IN AND STORE
Deciding to stay another night at Enchanted Trails we slipped back over to the Park and into the same spot we had Monday night. E-10. Turned out to be a warm sunny day so we took the opportunity to get a few things done around the house. Hauled out my ladder and managed to get our windshield cleaned. It had been in about the biggest mess ever. Cleaned the mirrors and front side windows as well as the Jeep’s windows. It is amazing how things can get into such a mess while traveling. Probably have enough sand and gravel in the Jeep to fill the bucket of a front end loader.
AFTERNOON WALK AROUND THE PARK
We’ll wait for the Albuquerque morning rush to simmer down before heading through the city and up the Sandia Mountains. No idea how far we’ll go but maybe not too far. We have a State Park in mind but the Verizon signal may be weak. If you don’t see a post for a couple nights it will probably mean we have a Verizon problem.
KELLY CATCHES ME DOING SPEED LAPS AROUND THE MOTORHOME:))
It is so much easier and enjoyable now using good old Open Live Writer to do my posts again. OLW has a few glitches too but nothing like Blogger. I was so close to just packing in my blog. I don’t have a lot of patience with things anymore and I have to work harder daily to keep a lid on my frustration factor. Thanks again for that OLW fix Dave:))
I'M WONDERING IF THIS COULD BE A CURVE BILL THRASHER
Kelly keeps tabs on the Borrego Springs and Quartzsite Facebook pages and it looks like traffic is ramping up in Borrego for the annual desert flower bloom. And Quartzsite folks have been reporting rattlesnake sightings. Yes we are quite content to be where we’re at here away from the crowds, hot weather, and Rattlesnakes.
TOOK OURSELVES FOR AN EVENING WALK AND NOTICED A FEW MORE VINTAGE TRAILERS
KELLY CHECKS TO SEE IF ANYONE IS HOME
PHEEBS MEETS A NEW PAL
YEP THAT’S KELLY LOOKING IN THE WINDOWS ALRIGHT
CAMPING WORLD’S LOT IS IN THE BACKGROUND
METHINKS THIS IS A MDDERN CHUCKWAGON
HEY THERE’S SOME CANADIANS IN HERE
GROANER’S CORNER:(( At a church meeting, a very wealthy man rose to tell the rest of those present about his Christian faith. "I'm a millionaire," he said, "and I attribute it all to the rich blessings of God in my life. I remember that turning point in my faith. I had just earned my first dollar and I went to a church meeting that night. The speaker was a missionary who told about his work. I knew that I only had a dollar bill and I had to either give it all to God's work or give nothing at all. So at that moment, I decided to give my whole dollar to God. I believe that God blessed that decision, and that is why I am a rich man today." When he finished and moved toward his seat, there was an awed silence As he sat down, a little old lady sitting in the same pew leaned over and said to him, "I dare you to do it again."

How come we choose from just two people to run for president and 50 for Miss America?

ReplyDeleteGlad you got those repairs done so you will be good to go, Travel safe and enjoy wherever you might be. Love those old rv's
ReplyDeleteSuch is Rv Life on the road. Hydraulic line problems and such are a bummer, but it beats the Black Water Tank split due to a faulty seam that happened to us a few years back. A week to get a new one and get it installed. We just left it with the shop, went to Chiricahua to hike and stayed a a B and B. All totaled up 5 grand!!!

The "Pal" Pheebes met looks like she is the sister of our Dixie. We have a picture of the entire litter and there is one dog with the same markings as in your picture. Did you talk to the owner? We have been looking to make contact with the other people who got Dixie's siblings. We will send you an email with the picture of the litter.
ReplyDeleteGlad the repairs are behind you. Now you can enjoy a leisurely drive and find a good spot to relax. Safe travels.
ReplyDeleteWe really liked that RV park for our time in Albuquerque - the vintage trailers are so fun! Glad CW took good care of you and got you back on the road. Nice to see you aren't getting too much winter.
ReplyDeleteGlad that Camping World was able to get you fixed. We are having the same thoughts about "smaller and newer". At our ages it is wise to realize that, even though we may feel fit and healthy... Somewhat... Health can change so fast.
