WE HAVE BEEN SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE SUCH GREAT WEATHER THIS WINTER WHEREVER WE'VE BEEN

I can't say I'm greatly envious but must admit I am somewhat a little envious of the majority of RV'ers who are able to head south each winter and be content to stay in the same location all season without moving.  For Kelly and I I'm sure our lives would be much simpler and cheaper if we were able to do that.  However being the restless people we are that has rarely happened.  Our ranch sitting days in earlier years and our Arizona house being the two brief exceptions. I am very thankful these past 13 winters we have spent our time traveling as we have moving around from place to place experiencing everything we have in a land so rich in natural beauty, mysticism, folklore, legends, and wide open spaces just waiting to be explored...............

DRIVING BY THESE BURROWING OWL NESTS I THOUGHT I SPOTTED ONE OF THE LITTLE FELLOWS

YEP THERE IT IS ALRIGHT
'AWWWW NUTS' IT WAS JUST A ROCK
SAND HILL CRANES CAN BE SEEN ALONG THE TREE LINE
Well, we will soon be on the move again.  It's always a minor miracle if we can stay in one spot for a full two weeks with one week being more the norm.  We have slowed down from other years but not a whole lot.  In a land as beautiful as this there is always the next mountain range beckoning, the next funky little town to find, the next totally new place to see and the next great boondocking site to discover.  With the exception of having to be in Quartzsite for a day and half we have been here in the Cibola Wildlife Refuge for about two weeks now and we are  both very much feeling the need to move on soon.  Just as we enjoyed our two weeks at Gunsight Wash south of Why Arizona we have enjoyed our time here on the Wildlife Refuge south of Blythe California.  Very few people anywhere and privacy galore.  We may very well pass this way one more time before leaving on our long journey home sometime next month around this time.......weather permitting.

It ended up being a very quiet day around our house again.  Aside from sitting outside for a awhile in the warm afternoon Sunshine watching a slow moving parade of  lumbering Elephants, frolicking Whales and Porpoises' along with a collection of large cloud Ducks, Doggie faces and an unending selection of Hippos, Rhinos, big funny faces and cats of all descriptions, our day was pretty quiet.  The parade of course took place high above against a deep blue sky as we watched an endless number of cotton-ball clouds floating by in their many creative and imaginative configurations.

A QUIET MORNING AT OUR HOUSE
AND WHAT IS KELLY WORKING ON OVER THERE??
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Three pastors were having lunch in a diner.  One said, "You know, since summer started I've been having trouble with bats in my loft and attic at church. I've tried everything--noise, spray, cats--nothing seems to scare them away".  Another said, "Me too. I've got hundreds living in my belfry and in the attic. I've even had the place fumigated, and they won't go away."  The third said, "I baptized all mine, and made them members of the church. Haven't seen one back since!"

The church held a "Marriage Seminar" and the Priest asked Luigi, as his 50th wedding anniversary approached, to share some insight into how he managed to stay married to the same woman all these years. Luigi replied to his audience, "Well, I tried to treat her well and spend money on her. But the best thing I did was take her to Italy for our 20th anniversary." The Priest said "Luigi, you are an inspiration to all husbands here today. Please tell the audience what you plan for your wife for your 50th anniversary." Luigi proudly replied "I'm gonna go and get her."

  2. Loving this winter weather as well, and moving around is what we enjoy very much year round as you well know. We are looking forward to returning to Why again on our journey home. Enjoy as much of this wonderful sunny desert weather as we can.

  3. I wish more people enjoyed the simplicity of RVing and travel. Your photos portray that beautifully.

  4. Great moon picture. Happy you have enjoyed wonderful weather. I suspect about ten of the eighteen days we camped on the beach were stormy or at least raining. It pushed me to my limit to stay inside a camper that long. I was not a Happy Camper.
