THANK YOU TO THE POWERS THAT BE FOR THIS COOLER AIR AND AN AFTERNOON MISSION TO PARKHILL ONTARIO

HERE’S PHEEBS WITH EYES CLOSED THOROUGHLY ENJOYING THE COOL MORNING AIR AS WE CRUISE THROUGH THE COUNTRYSIDE

Remember that light and bouncy happy whistling tune from the Andy Griffith show when Andy and Opie are walking to the fishing hole at the opening of each show?  Opening Theme  Well that’s what I felt like and whistled this morning as Pheebs and I skipped our way along a trail in the Hullett Marsh.  It was so nice to be out in the bug free cool morning air with blue skies overhead and a chorus of Crickets serenading us along the trail.

OUR FIRST STOP WAS AT THIS VIEWING STAND IN THE MARSH

LOVE HOW THE HEAVY OVERNIGHT DEW GLISTENS ON THE EARLY MORNS FOLIAGE

Again, energized both mentally and physically by this healthier weather I didn’t waste any time after getting home to tackle a little project I’d been putting off for a year or so.  I dug out our bird feeding station, dug another hole three feet away and re-set the feeder in that location.  Also dug up and re-located a few plants as well.  How nice to be back in landscape mode as I walked around making a few changes here and there and thinking ahead to other changes I have in mind.  And it’s all due to cooler temperatures and no humidity.

THOUGHT WE’D TRY OUT THIS NEW TO US FOREST TRAIL

DSC_1449

COULD TELL THIS TRAIL WAS ON THE NEWER SIDE BECAUSE OF THE FRESH BRANCH TRIMMING ON THE TREE TO THE RIGHT

DSC_1448

THE FORESTED PART OF THE TRAIL ONLY WENT A COUPLE HUNDRED YARDS  TO A MEADOW WHERE WE SOON GOT OUR FEET WET TRYING TO FOLLOW IT IN THE TALL GRASS

TOOK A SHORT DETOUR OUT OF THE WET GRASS BACK TO THE ROAD AND HEADED BACK TO THE JEEP

WASN’T TOO LONG AFTER THAT AND WE WERE HEADED FOR HOME

Richard picked me up at 3:15 this afternoon and we headed off on a mission to Parkhill Ontario .  Gayle and Richards Georgetown Motorhome was at the South End Tirecraft Truck Center there getting a few things attended to.  Coincidentally one of the those things being repaired were new manifold bolts on the driver’s side of the engine.  Same manifold problem we have at the moment.  The Motorhome wasn’t quite finished when we arrived so we cruised around Parkhill for half and hour taking in the sights.   About 5:30 the rig was ready to go so Richard backed the Motorhome out of the garage and with me in the lead with his van we set our sights for home.

HERE’S US TWO MANIC MAGPIE CHATTERBOXES TAKING A BREATHER WHILE RICHARD IS ON HIS CELL PHONE…..THIS IS PROBABLY THE FIRST PHOTO EVER OF RICHARD AND I TOGETHER SINCE WE FIRST MET BACK IN 1975

GROANER’S CORNER:(( The vet paused for a moment and said, "There is one more thing we can do."  He left the room for a moment and came back carrying a large cage with a cat in it. The vet opened the cage door and the cat walked over to the dog.  The cat sniffed the dog from head to toe and walked back to the cage. "Well, that confirms it", the vet announced, "your dog is dead. "Satisfied that the vet had done everything he possibly could, the woman sighed, "How much do I owe you?" "That will be $1,330", the vet replied. "I don't believe it", screamed the woman! "What did you do that cost $1,330????"  "Well", the vet replied, "it's $30 for the office visit and $1,300 for the CAT scan."

A ten-year-old, under the tutelage of her grandmother, was becoming knowledgeable about the Bible. But one day, she surprised her grandmother by asking, "Which virgin was the mother of Jesus? The Virgin Mary or the King James Virgin?"

  1. I think you dog, Pheebs, is a great dog and your best pal. If I were there I would give her a pat on the head and big hug. Since I am not, you will have to do it for me. My pooches go to the groomer tomorrow.
