Cloud cover first thing today with the Sun finally began breaking through about mid morning. Decided to lay low and hang around the rig. Sunday’s 6 hour day trip was tiring so we didn’t stray too far and I stuck pretty close to our overhead A/C unit, my recliner, and little green fan all day.
Spent a big chunk of our time this morning on computers and phones trying to find State Parks or campgrounds along our route ahead for the next little while or so. We have to be out of our spot in the morning so we’re scrambling to find our next destination. We are so used to going wherever whenever we please that this structured way of doing things has definitely thrown us a curve not to our liking.
GROANER’S CORNER:(( "How was your golf game, dear?" asked Jack's wife. "Well I was hitting pretty well, but my eyesight's gotten so bad I couldn't see where the ball went." "Well you're 75 years old now, Jack, why don't you take my brother Scott along?" suggested his wife. "But he's 85 and doesn't even play golf anymore," protested Jack. "But he's got perfect eyesight. He could watch your ball," his wife pointed out. The next day Jack teed off with Scott looking on. Jack swung, and the ball disappeared down the middle of the fairway. "Do you see it?" asked Jack. "Yup," Scott answered "Well, where is it?" yelled Jack, peering off into the distance. "I forgot."
====================================
Unfortunately, that's pretty much the way Florida rolls from January through March, Al. April 1st, that all changes, as there is a mass exodus up I-75 and I-95.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with finding your next destination. You are two pioneers of travelling and you have a knack for finding great campsites. We love that!
ReplyDeleteIn that last water picture, what is the reflection in the middle of the picture of?
ReplyDeleteOooops I had forgot to add one photo. You can see what that reflection is in one of the 2 photos above it.
DeleteGood luck with finding a spot another reason we like the southwest, come and go as we please. There is some free camping areas around if you do some research Mike and Dee have been finding some neat places this winter.
ReplyDeleteCheck out freecampsites.net there are a few around FL but I don't know if they are where you need them.

Safe travels.
I think that you have done very well to date with RV overnites. Pretty sure that you will continue with great overnite locations.

ReplyDeleteHi Al, I read your blog every day and have for years !! I left a quick note in your "shoutbox" regarding directions around PCB area. I was totally wrong but no way to erase my stupid comment - so tried to correct it. I apologize if YOU or any of your readers thought I was a Spammer. You are such a great photographer - you find beauty in even the simplest flower to the most majestic landscape. Your readers have some great suggestions and I hope you and Kelly and Pheebs continue to enjoy and discover "old Florida" lifestyle. I will continue to follow and love your blog - but silently. CINDY.
ReplyDeleteThat was the big turn off when we were visiting Florida for the winter. Most of the Campgrounds were booking reservations a year ahead.
ReplyDeleteHighway 19 is a peaceful Four-Lane that takes you through smaller communities near the Gulf Coast.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Welcome to civilization. Good luck.
